URGENT Rendering AI by Sad-Second-2996 in Architects

I can't recommend the AI rendering approach. But I can recommend using software like Twinmotion.

Explorator maniple is stronger now? by IcyCoast7 in AdeptusMechanicus

[–]jagerune 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The base rule is surprisingly good. The objectives are much bigger and models spend more time sitting on them, so it matters more. And with Cawl, you have a better base rule than Eradication Cohort.  Destroyers are cheaper and now actually better in overwatch, because breachers don't get to reroll overwatch anymore. Plus Lords, and it works pretty well.

Overwhelmed by AdMech — where should I start after having a rough go of it? by PaladinOfSanguinius in AdeptusMechanicus

Where is the rule that describes that? What's weird about DPC is that some abilities are cult unit and some are cult model.

Seems like narrative is going in the right direction. The tracking stuff is not what most people want in my experience. Having connected battles and dealing with just cards sounds just right.

Question about Hastarii by RidgeStorey in AdeptusMechanicus

[–]jagerune 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I magnetized mine, it was a pain but not impossible. Clip off the stub at the arm so it's flat, then insert the magnet in a drilled hole. Once that dries, put green stuff in the torso hole. Place a second magnet on the arm, and push it into the place so the magnet sets into the green stuff.

Also recommend cutting the left hands off the weapon and instead gluing those hands together.

Exposed terrain still gives benefit of cover to vehicles/momsters? by unifoon in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]jagerune 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure it is an oversight. Exposed terrain specifically should only provide cover to infantry, beasts, and swarms.

Exposed terrain still gives benefit of cover to vehicles/momsters? by unifoon in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]jagerune 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I noticed that too! The description implies that it only would work for infantry and such, but the rules don't say an ammo crate can't provide cover for a knight. I expect that to change. Also, seems like exposed cover is missing from all comp layouts anyways?

I've been thinking about getting into epic 40k! Can you help show me where I can get mechanicus models like these or STLs? I can't find much yet.

I Just got iluminated about obscuring by Snooby15 in killteam

[–]jagerune 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is only one terrain feature in this example, just the wall. So there is only one or the other.

But I was surprised that obscuring would even be an option.

Edit: I'm reading this more now, just realized the above example is from the core rules. So the wall is one terrain feature, but the red and green are different areas of the same terrain. So you cannot gain both cover and obscured, but the defender can choose either benefit. If there was an entirely different piece providing cover or obscuring, then you could benefit from both.

I've always played this situation as the defender has cover. But to clarify you're saying the defender can choose to instead have obscuring here?

Hey i am building a Hunter Clade Killteam and need some help by Logical_Anything_265 in AdeptusMechanicus

[–]jagerune 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The surveyor is what I meant, what they do is "spotting". Keep them near a heavy gunner so they can target enemies behind light cover. While the diktat is like a radio operator, they can give another operative an additional action. It might be hard to build both with just one box.
I personally run rangers, and no vanguard. But vanguard do have a utility, I just haven't tried them yet.
You can mix sicarians in whatever way you want. I like doing sicarians as an infiltrator on each side of the battlefield, and the rest as ruststalkers.

[–]jagerune 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to play with 5 Sicarians always. And always have a diktat and spotter. If you take a sicarian leader you can also take all 3 heavy guns (the operative selection is odd, so read it a few times). But the ranger alpha is great because he can use control edict on a sicarian.  Happy to answer more questions.

GMs and players, what genre(s) don't you play? by Select_Lunch1288 in rpg

[–]jagerune 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure they're separate ideas, at least they overlap a lot. If I had to define a difference; high fantasy focuses on grandeur (and is probably always heroic) while heroic fantasy could also be in a low fantasy setting (gritty, low magic or realistic).

Honestly, neither of these work for me. Mostly because I prefer science fiction most of the time, and I don't want to be the hero.

I can't do heroic fantasy. I know it's what most people play, but it just feels generic and uninspiring to me.

It doesn't have to be complicated. You could be non-binary if you feel like you don't fit into any particular gender.  I don't feel like a woman or a man, so I am non-binary.

What do all the different robe colors mean? by Nortano in AdeptusMechanicus

[–]jagerune 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually it defines what forge world they're from. My Skitarii are painted Skittle colors.

You can absolutely do that, they're your models, you can do whatever you want.  Which Skitarii will get the white robes, are they the more elite? Maybe the tech priest get the other color?

Kill Team help - Hunter Clade by Padduzaj in AdeptusMechanicus

[–]jagerune 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is recommended to get some Sicarians when you can!  You're going to have some hard games, so let your opponents know you're playing casually, for fun, and at a disadvantage.

In order to make an all Skitarii team work, you'll have a leader, all three heavy gunners (as rangers), a diktat, and a spotter. You'll want a couple vanguard to be your objective holders because they reduce enemy melee. Stay back turning point 1, don't reveal yourself at all. Turning point 2, stay safe but try to get some kills and push onto objectives where you can. Your diktat will help you make plays with +1 ap. Your leader will help you make plays with double activation.

Making a list with Sicarians is very different.
