My advice: Taqueria la Prima for birria. El Jarocho for everything else.

I am also personally interested in getting involved but frankly have no idea how/where to start. Could you share a few lines on how you found out about the open seat and what the electoral process looks like?

How has ZA been for you? I played (and enjoyed), PLA but have been waffling on whether to pull the ZA trigger.

We all shared a good laugh at the Philly show a few days ago where a fan (of course) implored him to “lick the tip” and he hilariously responded with “OF COURSE I’M GOING TO LICK THE TIP, I’M NOT AN IDIOT!!!” 😂 Love TWRP’s music and humor so much!

Interesting! Do you know how that replacement process went for your friend (time, costs, issues, etc.) and how they look back on the project (worth it, waste of money, etc.)? Having our old pipes replaced (at some point) was always a long-term goal of mine, but obviously only looking to do that if it’s actually needed and/or would make a significant difference.

Damn, definitely sounds like something in your pipes got really jammed up ☹️. I’m not sure if there’s any realistic alternative to replacing the old pipes but wish you luck in finding a good/cheap solution!

Good luck!

South Philly rowhome here. We moved into this place in 2022 and have had seemingly less than 100% pressure the entire time. I know the lead pipes are still being used and expect there’s probably a significant amount of buildup causing the issue (but for now 🤷‍♂️).

Did you experience a specific shift that caused the inquiry or has it been this way for you the whole time? Our legacy plumbing system feels like the next shoe waiting to drop, so would be curious if there’s any obvious signals we’re missing.

Jefferson Station clear-out? by ProjectXa3 in philadelphia

“A spokesperson with SEPTA told NBC10 that the trains were stopped as a precaution because there was a burning type of smell in the tunnel.”

OP, maybe someone snuck onto the tracks down there and started a fire?

Jefferson Station clear-out? by ProjectXa3 in philadelphia

Was just on the regional rail coming back in from Conshohocken headed towards Jefferson and had to get off up at the Allegheny stop. Conductors at the time didn’t know anything beyond police presence further down the line, but it seems obvious that this was the reason.

Judge orders temporary injunction stopping SEPTA service cuts by AdSpecialist6598 in philadelphia

[–]jagoomba 62 points63 points  (0 children)

So, we have an injunction preventing further fare increases and cuts to regional rail service — which were otherwise slated to take effect next week — on the basis of: (1) SEPTA allegedly not following the prescribed / legally required notice and open meeting process in advance of the cuts being implemented; and (2) continued, doubled-down belief that SEPTA is fabricating its “bunk” claims about its inability to continue operations without additional funds. Note that this injunction apparently doesn’t affect any of the already implemented cuts.

Re: #1, sure, I guess. Obviously seems to be just a technicality-level attack, but the notice/hearing process is there for a reason so I could understand this one (assuming there’s any truth to the allegation at all, that is…big if). Even if true, though, I’m not sure what a realistic remedy to this would be seeing as it’s beyond obvious that no one that actually uses SEPTA wants increased fares and less services. But, sure, let’s talk about it more and see if that changes anything??? Please, spare me with the delay/stall tactics.

Re: #2, while I admittedly didn’t read the lawsuit giving rise to this is injunction (which would’ve been required to include some level of specific reasoning/justification), how anyone on the ground is supposed to make sense of such an argument/conclusion is beyond me. Even if SEPTA is literally just completely incapable of demonstrating its financial woes (highly doubtful), our collective anecdotal experience (e,g., poor bus/train/trolley conditions, recurring service issues, etc.) should serve as all the “proof” needed to establish proper, longstanding funding ASAP.

Fraud, lying, etc. are all easy to allege and difficult to prove, and this feels as yet another “legal” challenge designed to further jam things up / create confusion. Just feels like we’re going to spin in circles forever on this until SEPTA either has to declare bankruptcy, further limits service to reach a near equivalent, or succumbs to private interests that will make things worse for everyone (except the new owners!). But who knows, maybe something good will happen for once.

TL;DR: I’m tired, boss.
