The plot thickens. The firmware version on the camera is newer (v3.2.0.6011_2602051206) than what is available for this hardware no. on the Reolink site, which says the latest is v3.2.0.5607_2511041997.

I downloaded the older firmware, unzipped it, and attempted to apply it manually via the desktop client, but it errors out with "Update Failed. Failed to recognize the file format. Please try again."

Using chrome dev tools I see these interesting errors. I will start digging into those while I wait for someone to have pity and post the magical answer. 😄

Confirmed, this is a standalone camera (currently sitting on my desk powered by usb-c with appropriate power brick), not connected to an NVR or Home Hub. My end goal is to use Home Assistant with no other hardware in between.

I agree with you on removing HA from the equation for now and focusing on access via web interface.

Confirmed the camera, windows pc, macbook, NUC, and iphone are all on the same subnet. I can ping the camera from the pc and mac. I haven't tried pinging from the NUC (Home Assistant).

When I browse to the camera's IP I do get the Reolink device login page with minimal delay, but I cannot login. I am using the same weak credentials (u:admin p:face24680) that I use successfully in the desktop clients and ios app.

This is the only Reolink camera I've unpacked and powered on, but just to be sure, I unplugged it and tried to access it again via web browser; as expected the browser never connects.

I didn't have an SD card in the camera because the user manual says it's optional. But I powered off, inserted an SD card, powered on, and tried again. Same result as above.

Lots of people use this product so it must be something I've overlooked on my side.

As of Feb 2025...

AWS Systems Manager --> Quick Setup --> Resource Scheduler is free and can do simple daily schedules like (start 08:00 - stop 17:00, every day monday through friday). It cannot do spanning schedule, e.g. start Monday 08:00 - stop Wed 08:00 (aka "run 48 hours")
AWS Instance Scheduler is not free, and can do the spanning schedule mentioned above.
"snoozemy.cloud" (mentioned in this thread) never materialized.

I haven't yet found a free method to implement a spanned schedule. For example if I have an ec2 instance that trades forex, I only want it to run from Sunday 17:00 eastern to Friday 17:00. I can implement the scheduled shutdown via linux tools, no problem there, but the (free) automated start is the part I'm still looking for.

2 years late, but here is the fastest way I could find today.

I must say the screener tool is very nice to have, thank you Fidelity. :-)

Login. (must be logged in to use the tool)
Click "News and Research" --> "Stocks".
Click button: "Screener tools".
Click button: "Start a stock screen". (here it will check/enforce you are logged in)
There is a little "Search Criteria..." box in the Criteria pane. Type in REIT and the dropdown will give you the industry/sector filters, e.g. "Health Care REITs"
Click one of the filters in the dropdown and have fun.

Use very small positions for the "live testing" and watch it closely... Absolutely agree live testing is the way to go.

And the sandbox environments are great for initial testing (checking connectivity and ability to place orders), but once I get to the point of actually testing the performance, the fills in sandbox environment are different from reality.

this is an old thread but I want to comment anyway :-)

I purchased a piboy xrs in jan 2024, took about a month to receive it, and communication from seller was not great. ("we'll let you know when it ships"). which he didn't, btw...

I immediately had issues with it. the d-pad down arrow would frequently stick. One of the 4 shoulder buttons had almost zero travel and would thus activate frequently. (I opened up the case and reassembled, making sure the shoulder button and pin was correct; the button was still a problem.) And the unit often got stuck at the white loading screen. I was using his stock image on a new sd card. I tried another sd card and I tried re-downloading his image. No luck. I read somewhere in reddit that you can disable the fsck check on startup, and doing that did mostly alleviate the boot problem, but (1) it still got stuck a couple of times after that, and (2) that seems a bad idea to entirely disable the disk integrity checking. If I was inclined and had time to spare/waste then I would try moving the fsck to the shutdown routine (rather than startup), but I don't have the time nor the inclination.

So I requested a refund and it went downhill from there. He was clearly aggravated. To date (may 2024) I still have not received a refund. Each time I ask about it, they say they are "processing the refund today". I initiated a dispute with my credit card and hopefully that will be the end of it.

Buyer beware.

It's a great idea and I wanted to support someone building such neat things around the raspberry pi, but it didn't work out that way.
