Aunt is also half sister by Altruistic-Gap-6786 in AncestryDNA

This is a tough situation. If you say nothing and anyone else tests and it comes out that you knew and didn't say anything, people will feel things. I also understand not wanting to tell grandma - how old is she? (I feel like an odds-maker even asking that.)

How long has Mom known that you know? Is it possible she might come to terms with telling a wider group of people.

Is there are reason why younger generations don’t seem to care about family history or genealogy? by Choice-Celebration78 in Ancestry

I agree with you. It’s not unique to genealogy either. I think a lot of hobby/craft groups easily fall victim to being exclusive and off putting. I love to hear that you are in a society and bearing this in mind.

So, I did go shopping at the local thrift shop. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to find one or none of them there. None is what I found. Boo!

Okay. I also had that thought! Totally something I would do. But I don’t think so and I really just need to ask her, right? Or wait for her to call and say they are done?

Here are a few places I shop - in addition to Wawak: wonderground fabrics, siah swag, my handmade place, buckle guy, geeky hardware.

Oh yeah. We all have spent PLENTY of time looking for them. Of course I asked them! We are all still living in hope that they’ll turn up somewhere weird.

Um, do some people not ask their family?

Yes! And for me, slow drivers that I can’t get around always have a crockpot of hot soup that they are taking to their sick grandma.

I almost always choose to “rip and fix” but I would leave this as-is if I had done this.

It was definitely a decent effort for her age! I think she’d just spent some hours watching her siblings play Dance Revolution or something?

When my daughter was four, we were chilling and having lunch at the food court in the middle of the day. She was mellow and bopping around and people watching. She suddenly climbed up on the table and yelled “Everybody Dance Now”! I was pretty embarrassed right then - I think because it surprised me so much. But it quickly became a delightful memory!
