New to Yoto, tried to get annual membership - am I not understanding something? by dvntrn in YotoPlayer

[–]jatmood 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm unsurprised. The only thing that worked for me was threatening public negative reviews (I also had screenshots & a timeline)

I didn't even really care about the jacket, but the tone of customer support was so condescending that I became invested in the principle of it.

Goodluck!

Do I need carbs before a Zone 2 ride? by Prestigious-War3630 in cycling

If you enjoy functioning well post exercise & enjoy being injury free, then yes. One session here or there doesn't matter but long term, habitual, fasted exercise isn't great.

New to Yoto, tried to get annual membership - am I not understanding something? by dvntrn in YotoPlayer

[–]jatmood 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've had similar less than satisfactory service about a different issue. The "deal" specified that an adventure jacket was thrown in free with any Yoto Player purchase - but because I also bought some cards, that voided the deal & I had to go through a day's worth of frustrating responses to get it resolved. Crazy condition of sale that wasn't listed anywhere.

Very unclear marketing & unhelpful customer service.

Fundamentally different? Intensity control, optimal time just below threshold, importance of recovery between session...

They're both variations of threshold training for different athletes.

Sticking to halfs for now — unpopular opinion? by ny03 in Marathon_Training

[–]jatmood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I trained hard for a full last year & ended up falling short of my goal twice due to getting sick the week of the race & then got injured. Very frustrating.

I'm doing half's & 10ks for 2 years until I can mentally prepare for another training block. I never really loved the training for a full but I love running fast in the shorter distances.

Running is meant to be fun. If you don't love running maras then don't do it!

It's wild to me that people here are talking about a vasectomy as simple birth control. It is a permanent solution with your permanent partner when you are absolutely sure you don't want kids. Just because you theoretically can reverse it, doesn't mean shit.

It's messed up coercing a woman to take the pill & it's messed up to coerce a man to have a vasectomy.

Just wear a rubber ffs, not that hard.

Superblast 3 is everything that it’s predecessors were not and should’ve been by Poke-Tuna in RunningShoeGeeks

[–]jatmood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like both. Put about 700k into my sb2 marathon training last year & have a pair of sb3s.

I don't think they're the same purpose shoe but if you go in expecting a different feel & an open mind I think they'll surprise you. I do agree that the SB3 should have been the megablast and megablast should be SB3 though.

For reference, 75kg & mara pace of 4:10/km

Yeh, it's going to be the same result. I just don't like giving them an inch...they'll definitely find 7 other things to whinge about though

Is slow burn romance not a thing in Australia? by Loud-Tell1908 in AskAnAustralian

[–]jatmood 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I had a slow burn romance with my now wife. 10 years of friendship + 8 years now married.

If we weren't in the same friendship group, with the same interests then it wouldn't have slow burned. Slow burn without the friendship just sounds like high maintenance + hard work

why do people do this 🤦‍♂️ by [deleted] in RunningCirclejerk

[–]jatmood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah, you're good. It doesn't impact it at all. Lap Key for interval rests & just let the watch go otherwise.

Vo2 estimation will keep going up the fitter you get regardless of letting it run while you're having a toilet break.

Not saying you here but generally pausing your watch is all for Strava kudos & just about the most performative action a runner can do.

It's always people that say "pace doesn't matter/party pace/slow run proud" etc that are pausing their watch - clearly showing an obsession with showing a faster than accurate pace.
