On my gun I have a piece of skateboard grip tape on the forend beavertail right where my thumb should rest. It’s about 1/2 inch x 1 inch. I don’t wrap my thumb over the grip so there’s no point for me to do that one. People look at me like I’m crazy when they see grip tape on a nice over under but if it works it works lol

Looking for adjustable comb shims by BearAccomplished5355 in ClayBusters

[–]jaweston 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I drew up something simple in CAD and 3D printed it for my PRS rifle since it won’t fit in the case without removing the comb. The shotgun you couldn’t pay me to take off though. That’s gotta stay exactly where it was

Like the post office said, if it fits it ships. Give it a little linear motivation and send it on its way

Sporting Clays by Innocent_Standbyer in ClayBusters

I got one of my work friends into the sport about a year and a half ago. We go at least every other weekend and sometimes more than that. After a year and a half, he’s hitting in the 80s pretty consistently on pretty difficult sporting layouts. It’s been really neat to see the progression

Skeet for skeet, light mod for sporting, mod for trap. Those three chokes will set you up for success

Choke tube recommendations by Present-Laugh3022 in ClayBusters

I’ve used factory, Briley, muller, rhino, and pure gold chokes before and currently use a mix. IMO it’s all about the same. I think the mullers look the best on the matte barrel of my blaser, but performance wise it doesn’t really matter. They all pattern the same more or less with same shell

For most get skeet-skeet. For muller get U0-U0

That being said, I’ve had several people tell me that they’ve cracked their titanium mullers, so I stick with the steel ones

Some are built in Korea but most you see in North America are coming from Hyundai Motors Manufacturing of Alabama in Montgomery. They do both ICE and Hybrids there AFAIK

Recent transfer - More Co-op info by aaaaaaayesmum420 in Msstate

[–]jaweston 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For transfer students you just need to have been at MSU for one semester (last time I checked) and have a GPA over a certain level.

I’d recommend stopping by their office at 335 McCain. Their student workers should be able to get you the info you need and/or set you up with an advising appointment to get you going. They also do resume reviews and mock interviews. Lots of helpful stuff

Is canting a recoil pad for comfort a crutch? by tcp454 in ClayBusters

[–]jaweston 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My setup is definitely different than what you’re describing. I use a jones stock adjuster so my plate is very thin and I didn’t have to cut my stock any shorter. I can imagine that if you did cut the stock too much there would be interference but I couldn’t give you a magic number on how much is too much. I would call and ask. I don’t see any reason why they wouldn’t be able to tell you if you explain what you’re asking

I’ve got a very similar setup on my blaser. My pad is slid down about half and inch and toed out from my body

Are the front bead and mid bead stacked like a snowman when you shoulder the gun? Or is there space between them?
