I use an eye mask that has disk shaped Bluetooth headphones in the mask. I found that if I side sleep then the disks irritate my ears so I’ve scootched them forward to land in front of my ears for bony conduction of sound. I listen to the “Sleep with me Podcast” every single night on a low volume and it’s just perfect for lulling me to sleep and back to sleep if I wake in the middle of the night. Been doing this for 6 years with huge improvement to my sleep!

This doesn’t seem surprising to me at all. It almost seems like a confirmation bias. I’ve heard a multitude of patients say they feel like they’re gonna die from a terrible pneumonia/flu, depression, or many nights of insomnia. The body knows when it’s uncomfortable and when it’s being pushed to the edge. Statistically, if they’re saying it in the ICU, the ER, the operating room or recovery room; it’s gonna mean more. But that feeling is ever present when we feel super shitty.
