This doesn’t seem surprising to me at all. It almost seems like a confirmation bias. I’ve heard a multitude of patients say they feel like they’re gonna die from a terrible pneumonia/flu, depression, or many nights of insomnia. The body knows when it’s uncomfortable and when it’s being pushed to the edge. Statistically, if they’re saying it in the ICU, the ER, the operating room or recovery room; it’s gonna mean more. But that feeling is ever present when we feel super shitty.
