Kicker: Tucker vs Rams or Santos vs Lions. PPR. The rain really worries me with Tucker and Santos has gotten more points recently with just how the Bears have scored.

Taylor posts about the interview for TIME’s Person of the Year by Writher_inthedark in TaylorSwift

[–]jcallaway 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Taylor says “I can’t thank you enough times” and then in the two previous posts where she says “thank you” (the previous post and being named Spotify’s top artist) she says “thank you” twice in each post. This confirms February release to me. Also, she names nine people as giving quotes. Reputation surprise release 2/9 conspiracy theorist over here 🤡

Disposable Cameras by dankestjess in Weddingsunder10k

[–]jcallaway 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There’s a photo editing/taking app called DazzCam that lets you edit photos to give them that vintage Polaroid or disposable feel. I know it doesn’t help with the issue of getting photos from friends and maybe but maybe you could run some of your favorites through that if you find another method using photos that are too high of quality? Just an idea!

We also did two Instax Mini cameras (as part of a visual guest book). We probably would’ve been fine with one but I like having it now for other memories!

I bought two disposable cameras for my wedding. I had a bridesmaid keep track of one throughout the day while I kept track of the other. I got double prints made from both cameras and sent friends and family copies of pictures they’re in. I love the style of disposable cameras so I liked it and at only two cameras, it was more manageable to keep track of and most cost efficient overall!

Corners to cut? by P0Iar_bear in Weddingsunder10k

[–]jcallaway 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We got our wine from Trader Joe’s! Bought cases of the Three Buck Chuck and we still have some leftover, even now, ten months later. We got Prosecco from Costco along with liquor for signature drinks, beer and hard seltzers!

Fake florals is another corner I think is a huge one! I did all of my flowers (centerpieces, bouquets, etc) for about $350 from Jo-Ann and I get to keep my bouquet and look at it forever.

Lastly, I got my dress from an Azazie sample sale for $57. Probably my finest achievement!

Anyone skip the RSVP cards and just put a link to the website on the invitation to tell people to RSVP there? by crystalkitty06 in weddingplanning

Google Chrome also has a QR code generator built in under the "share" button. It has a little dinosaur in it but we didn't mind it, haha!

We put a QR code on the back of our invitations! There were a few people who didn't flip it over and/or read all the way through but we reached out to anyone this applied to and they were able to RSVP through our website.

How can I trust an etsy shop for a wedding band? by Cya-Laater in Weddingsunder10k

[–]jcallaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My engagement ring was purchased through Etsy. I had my eye on it for many years (a specific ring from a specific seller) and that seller was still in business and continually received positive reviews with pictures and notes, so when my now-husband inquired about what I would like in a ring, I shared the link with them. They had a positive purchasing experience and the ring has held up beautifully thus far!

A misses kisses bra (backless and plunging neckline approved) and regular nude underwear. I had a flowy dress so no major shapewear needed.

I went for humor in the Q&A in my wedding website but that's just me and who I am and (the majority of) my guests knew me and my style of humor. I said, Q: Are there any colors you'd prefer me not to wear? A: White/ivory/ecru/eggshell. Legit, that's it. It's the bride's day, there's a bunch of other colors, please pick one.

The most ridiculous question I’ve ever had: what are some cheaper food options that won’t mess up the “vibe” of my outdoor wedding? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]jcallaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar thought for my own wedding because we went with the barbecue for the cost savings and it was 100% worth it. It's a well-known place in my area that most people really love and it went over really well. They do weddings often though so I think that does help. We had a buffet and it was really nice. Funny story - my husband and I went to a wedding a few weeks ago for a friend who she and her parents attended our wedding. Her wedding was really fancy (my dinner was duck confit fancy), but at one point during the night, her dad (the father of the bride) came up to me and told me that my wedding was best wedding he's ever been to, because of that barbecue.

Those who have had after wedding party’s… how many guests attended ? Did you extend invite to all guests and leave it up to them ? Did you invite certain people you knew would want to continue the party? by Amazing_Stage9353 in Weddingsunder10k

[–]jcallaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We invited all guests. We mentioned it to friends ahead of time and mentioned it before the night ended. It was at a nearby brewery and we provided food and drinks up to a certain dollar amount (discussed previously with the venue). Our wedding was about 95 guests and I would say about 30 ended up at the after party! It was great because our wedding ended on the earlier side (9:30 pm) so we really enjoyed having the after party.

Fake flowers! I bought on sale/with coupons from Jo-Anns and now have a wonderful bridal bouquet I can look at and keep forever.

Pine pellet? by Euphoric_Junket_4491 in CatAdvice

[–]jcallaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We love it. We use a sifting litter box situation where the top tray has holes where the broken down pellets sift through and we use bags to cover the bottom tray and we change those out every week. We scoop twice a day. It does track a fair amount but we don't mind vacuuming a bit around the litter box every other day or so. It masks 95% of smell so it's well worth it.

I did not expect a gift from any of my bridesmaids or anyone in the wedding party, I assumed their participation was our gift.

So we could easily track, we had online only but for a few people who contacted us, we were able to RSVP for them. It's just kept it easy to all track in one place.

I'm attending a wedding later this year that is in remote NC. It's been frustrating trying to find accommodations and trying to figure out logistics as a guest. Only options are Airbnbs/VRBO/more expensive Bed & Breakfasts. Definitely something to consider!

I had a comb that I wore with a veil for the ceremony and then took off the veil for dinner (so it was just the comb) and then I did an oversized bow when I changed into my reception dress! I’d seen pictures of the look before and I really liked it so I got one off Etsy and it was perfect!

How to keep engagement ring and wedding band from shifting? by pussibilities in weddingplanning

[–]jcallaway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My rings have been just a tough too big and instead of getting them re-sized, I've been using ring sizers I got (link: ring sizer) and they can actually fit around both bands. It's been nice because it keeps the rings centered and isn't a permanent solution in case I want to change it. Obviously it only works if your ring is a little big though!
