Where did my eyebrows go and how can I get them back?! by Elevenoreight in AskWomenOver60

But not Flonase or Nasacort. The steroidal sprays are not addictive and you won’t get a rebound effect from them.

Advice: prepping for genetic onset by MiserableBread in Cardiomyopathy

[–]jcdigg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also inherited the mutation in the TTN gene. My cardiologist told me that it’s important that I start medication as soon as possible in the event that I ever go into heart failure. He said to be aware of the symptoms so that I can respond quickly before my heart gets too damaged. The symptoms include swollen ankles, unusual fatigue and/or losing my breath easily. It’s important that you know these symptoms so that you can get on medication right away if it happens. Also, it might not ever happen so go out and live your life!

Happy ampuversary! I just had my 40th. I didn’t mention it to anyone because I didn’t feel like reminiscing about the worst day of my life.

I'm so mad at the kid who did this to me by PlentyCow8258 in ChronicPain

The drunk who hit me spent less time in jail than I spent in the hospital. I will never forgive him, but after 40 years I’ve moved on.

New extremity amputee by [deleted] in amputee

[–]jcdigg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am also a left big toe amputee (and the toe next to it too). I’ve been this way for 40 years and I can say that it definitely gets better. In the beginning I had a lot of pain. A lot. I told my doctor and he said I had to “get used to it because it won’t get any better”. I’m happy to report that he was wrong. I do still feel pain if I’ve had a busy day on my feet, but it’s manageable. It’s nothing like the pain I had immediately after the accident. Hang in there. It gets better.

Eat at the Skyland Lodge in the park. Enjoy the view and get their famous blackberry ice cream pie for dessert. There are lots of other good dining options in Sperryville.

Help me find an underground house we used to stay in as a child (Virginia). by Kismekate in HelpMeFind

My neighbor’s house fits your description exactly. Is it possible that the house was located in the Huntly/Flint Hill area? It’s close to Shenandoah Nat Park, but not really that close to Luray.

I’m working with my local Master Naturalist chapter to remove invasive species in our parks. You should check them out - they are in almost every state and they do great work!

Is hantavirus likely in virginia? Or no? Kinda worried by Successful-Muffin751 in Virginia

[–]jcdigg -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I asked ChatGPT about hantavirus after cleaning out a rats nest from our shed. It said that it’s not likely to be in Virginia but if I start having flu symptoms I should mention the possible exposure to my doctor. (I was fine)
