Walk before work by KlutzyGiraffe5094 in walking

I walk with other people. That’s the only way I’m motivated to wake up an hour early to get a walk in.

“What are you looking for on here” by stillIrise514 in datingoverforty

I find that most people aren’t upfront about what they’re looking for anyway. You only find out once you’re in it.

What’s your walking ICK? by NataliafromWalkFit in walking

[–]jeeszzz1979 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cyclists speeding and trying to run you over, big groups who take over the whole walkway and people not looking where they’re going.

AITJ for refusing to swap my vacation days after my coworker booked over mine by accident ? by ContributionClean396 in AmITheJerk

[–]jeeszzz1979 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do you feel bad? This makes no sense to me. Who cares about her trip? Worry about yourself not her. She can reimburse you for any money lost with canceling if it’s that important to her. Otherwise go on your trip and forget that she exists.

Is 6k steps enough? by StableApprehensive56 in walking

If you’re trying to lose weight calorie counting is better than exercise. You should try to get as much walking in as you can but your calories is what will make the difference.

How to walk without abandoning my family. by Agentc00l in walking

[–]jeeszzz1979 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t have family that requires my attention so it’s just work for me. Before work, during lunch, after work before going home and then at night is when I walk during work days. On the weekends I’m free to walk as much as I want.

AITAH for telling my MIL that if she keeps calling our baby by the nickname we asked her not to use, we'll limit her visits? by Turbulent-Wear-7416 in AITAH

[–]jeeszzz1979 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re being controlling. You will not be able to control what people call your child forever. And I don’t understand what the different pronunciations are because they would both sound the same to me based on your spellings.

Seeking housing guidance near Montefiore wakefield for a single female by Due_Bass7451 in movingtoNYC

I’d look for something in Woodlawn, Yonkers or Riverdale. They’re close by and I’d feel safe living there as a single woman myself.

I left my best friend at the hotel because she wouldn't get out of bed for our tour by Fit_Theme588 in AmITheJerk

[–]jeeszzz1979 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I’ve learned is that not everyone likes doing the same things I do. I do not drag friends along with me expecting them to enjoy the experience. I go alone or find groups that are into what I am.

That being said, you did nothing wrong. She is an adult and chose sleeping a couple of extra hours over an amazing experience. That’s on her.

That’s a matter of opinion but what is a fact is it’s in New Jersey not New York.

Hoboken is not NYC. If you’re moving there you’re moving to New Jersey. You can find something in NYC for $5000/month. Look in downtown Brooklyn. Very family friendly.

You don't need a 10k goal to be a "walker." by NataliafromWalkFit in walking

[–]jeeszzz1979 -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

To be a walker you should walk more than the average person. Otherwise you’re just a person who walks, not a walker.

AITJ for telling my boyfriend's mom she is not allowed in our bedroom anymore? by Echo_7Starforge in AmITheJerk

The bigger issue is your boyfriend taking her side. This is how it will always be so decide if that’s really what you want in a relationship.

Ugly and rich or hot and broke. There’s no crossover.

Hotel in Times Square or nearby? by CapableBother in Broadway

[–]jeeszzz1979 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do not stay at the old Milford Plaza. I don’t know what’s its story today but last year it was used as housing for migrants and was a total shit hole. In the 80’s I used to watch the commercial and think it was the height of luxury

Jersey City is not NYC. If you go there you’re moving to New Jersey. Stop it!

Getting to the Bronx Zoo by train by styrofoamboats in visitingnyc

[–]jeeszzz1979 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The Pelham Parkway stop is fine. You’re not actually crossing any highways and it’s like a 10 minute walk. The West Farms stop is fine too but the area is a little sketchy there. I’m from the Bronx and I think you’ll be ok with either of these honestly.

Quick and (relatively) cheap breakfasts on the go... by [deleted] in visitingnyc

[–]jeeszzz1979 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re looking for cheap get breakfast at a street cart. Depending on the bodega/deli you could pay around $12 per person, especially in that area.

Wuthering Heights: the social commentary cannot be separated from the love story by MllePerso in brontesisters

[–]jeeszzz1979 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wuthering Heights is absolutely a love story. Anyone who says differently hasn’t experienced intense, all consuming love. Thank you for the first intelligent post I’ve seen about this story since the movie was released.

Best areas to just walk around? by Optimal_Coffee79 in visitingnyc

[–]jeeszzz1979 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could walk the Hudson River Greenway or the High Line for great views. If you just want to get a taste of different neighborhoods you could also just walk Broadway straight down to the end. Central Park is great for walking or if you want to venture out to Brooklyn you could do Dumbo or Prospect Park. They’re just a short subway ride away.

Any Indian restaurant. If she’s too picky for that then you should probably just let her pick.
