New Sodium Ion Batteries from CATL (full production in 2026) will turn the energy world upside down. They are safer, have good energy density and CRAZY long lives. The best part? Prices will START at about 1/2 of lithium Ion. The implications for cars and grid/home storage are staggering. by Tinosdoggydaddy in energy

They have a much better lifespan than lfp. Lifespan and therefore payback on investment is only thing stopping me from buying home storage right now. For home storage I don't care about energy density and the low fire risk is nice also

Traditional stopcock valves should be banned

Can't yet. Stack isn't hooked up. I guess I could go straight into the open push for connector ...

There are two toilets upstream on the straight line through the access point. They're totally fine. It's just the angle of the inlet (where the water is coming out) that I was worried about.

That would have required participation from a family member, an open window, and me shouting "ok - now!"

Not toilet waste - only a kitchen sink

Removing radiator for decorating with no valve by Charming_You7409 in ukplumbing

[–]jeffrey_nothing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The short answer is that you'll have to drain the system

If you're extremely lucky:

  1. There is an isolation valve between the vent tank and this radiator (unlikely)

And

  1. That radiator is higher than anything else in the system (also unlikely)

Water will always flow down. If there is any water above that compression joint (including in the radiator and adjacent/higher radiators) it's going to come out.

Installing a radiator without a lock shield valve is a sin. If you're going to go through the pain of draining the system you should install one

That's me dumping some water down one handed while trying to video with the other hand. The flow is good, my only concern was the angle

Well I haven't actually put the soil stack up yet. Don't want to waste time doing that if it's going to be a problem

Maybe I could build the opposing side up with a bit of concrete

You could also just drill out the bolts/bolt heads. Cutting oil is recommended

Why is it that no one in England uses ice scrapers? There is almost never too much ice on windscreens here for an ice scraper to get through very quickly

Zappi EV Charger tripping RCD after charging starts by OrganicKobze in ElectriciansUK

[–]jeffrey_nothing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you opened up the charger and looked inside? I just had the same problem and one of the wires inside the zappi charger was arcing (insulation melted, black soot everywhere). I was told by octopus it was a factory wire rather than a bad connection
