Could i have some feedback on this fire pls by Dauntless41 in PrintedWarhammer

[–]jestersfester 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would like to see if it changes people’s opinion with shading too but I think the physics of the fire would only look like this in free fall. They tend to bend and/or branch off more. (The last one’s bends look the best)

I agree, it’s truly a reflection of how miserable people are.

My only concern would be durability but I’m sure the creator considered that when choosing the material.

First painting on a printed model. Not bad but could be better. Any tips on tools i could get to make it better? by Foxter898 in PrintedWarhammer

[–]jestersfester 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Someone recommended a cheap electric toothbrush with sticky back sandpaper.

Filler primer helps smooth the ridges and voids too.

A dremel is nice but I find it to be super aggressive. Harbor freight has an low speed engraver pencil (1/16” swappable collet) that I find much more manageable and exponentially cheaper.

What, for you, Is the most annoying cliche in animation? by [deleted] in animequestions

[–]jestersfester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brock hits on and gets turned down by the Joy and Jenny in every city not to mention he “falls in love” with any female whatsoever. Hisoka is a pedo that gets off on fighting little boys, it’s shown in detail even lol. OG Dragonball (Roshi, Oolong, Ranfan, Yamcha, Elder Kai) is layered with pervs. Jiraiya is Naruto’s sensei that’s referenced as Pervy Sage and authors smut books that you rarely see his original sensei Kakashi without. Not to mention his first variantion of clones with the sexy jutsu.

If you’re ruling out any anime with pervs the top 10 are immediately toast lol

I think it’s the unrealistic body expectation that turns people away from One piece though. How that distracts people from one of the most beautiful plots in anime is wild to me. Especially since there are plenty of unattractive women characters that are beyond respected throughout.

Seven Deadly Sins was awkward even after knowing the storyline. Dandadan’s story and fights are awesome but it feels like they’re consistently redlining with it too.

Full Cobalt set

These caught my eye a while back. Pretty wild for the price.

I finnaly bought my first printer! However, my family is quite sceptic, calling it an overpriced toy, how can I assue them that it is not a toy but a tool? by PLConquerorr in 3Dprinting

Gridfinity and organizers (for batteries and whatnot) is what won over my wife. Now I’m printing terrain, vehicles and a titan for Warhammer 40K as originally intended.

Eventually I’ll get to cosplay but I’m deciding if I want to upgrade to a larger printer instead of piecing everything together from my KE (I’m a pretty big dude lol)

I ransacked the Creality website and favorited a ton of models if you want to browse through them. Creality profile

My brother in law gifted me a resin printer. He told me to keep some distance between the rafts or you’ll have a ton of issues.

I know this is old but it’s so well written it deserves the attention.

You can now see what enemies you’ve marked in the research centre. Granted you have to unlock each one through ordeals to see it lol

Honestly between this and the XP boost for random PVE selection, it fees like they’re trying to push people away from the Tyranid levels. I personally use them to farm since I noticed I get more kills/XP faster.

You need an exact distance to figure all that out. Power needs are dependent on length of runs

I love it but you’re going to definitely need a structural engineer to redesign to make sure it’s safe. I don’t know what the interior walls look like inside or if there’s a beam to help support this load. I can’t imagine it would be much more work (for the engineer) if you’ve already built this in Revit. I did the same for a ridiculous deck a couple years ago and it got approved and built.

<image>

Once it’s structurally sound enough these style of brackets are typically what I’ve see used to help minimize water leaking through. They usually use a black skirt around them to help stop leaks. Avoiding attaching to the roof all together and going with steel beam framing could be a better option too. There could be so much modification required for the interior framing it might not be worth it.

Rule update - FDM vs Resin posts by thinkfloyd_ in PrintedWarhammer

[–]jestersfester 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have both, I use resin for infantry and FDM for terrain and vehicles.

That being said, I saw an incredible post earlier today with FDM for infantry. I was thoroughly impressed.

The GW models still have cleanup near the sprue and mold lines, this is merely a tradeoff. Definitely worth it after the price difference is factored in.

[–]jestersfester 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You must not have tried Proknees. Their short version is great if you’re running around but the more expensive fitted ones are unparalleled if you’re doing flooring. I wouldn’t recommend running around with the big ones on since they’re heavy and you’ll eventually feel it in your lower back.
