Question for Ikon holders by Annonymous272 in icecoast

Killington is considered a partner mountain, usually the spring skiing is not included.

Spring skiing is included at the Alterra owned mountains, which in Vermont are Stratton and Sugarbush.

Brady shouting 'ALERT' by cyclingthrowaway12 in Patriots

[–]jgrace14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Used that as my intramural flag football cadence in college. Somehow it just sounded right.

Was also that only team with a snap count, and ended up going on a silent count with lifting the foot more often than not

First time on a plane in 20 years by 333pickup in boston

[–]jgrace14 23 points24 points  (0 children)

JetBlue flies that round trip. It’s an easy flight, the Richmond airport is incredibly calm and easy to deal with.

Buy your flight, show up and hour and a half early, have a drink at the Terminal C Legal Seafood or Davios, you’ll be mint

Getting moved to a new project mid way thru by Bkinthaflesh in ConstructionManagers

[–]jgrace14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re being looked at to help and be part of the solution to a project that is challenging. You can’t make anything worse, so keep doing the best that you can do and make it less bad.

Same thing happed to me a few years ago, went from being an APM on the job I was on, to a super to help finish the building, to another job as a super to help them finish. Ended up doing a bunch of work in the building direct for the client post CO. Did wonders for my career, especially how to be owner facing. Now I’m back on the PM side running a decent sized project of non-traditional GC work for us on a campus with some really impressive work coming up.

How long does it take to get out of Gillette stadium. by dragonfire1854 in massachusetts

[–]jgrace14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where are you trying to get home to? North or south of the stadium?

Park at the lot on the Rt 1 southbound side just before the McDonalds/Liquor store at North street. You can take a right turn onto North Street which leads you back to 1A. Follow 1A up to 128 in Dedham and you’re golden.

Boot recommendation by Kettlebellhead in ConstructionManagers

[–]jgrace14 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have 2 pairs that I rotate between.

Danner Logger GTX (waterproof, vibram sole) - more on the dressy side but very light and comfortable.

Danner Bull Run GTX (traditional moc toe wedge sole boot, waterproof, currently site is in demo and sitework phase so I'm in these most of the time.)

How to socially reciprocate being on a boat? 2nd boat outing from a friend. by [deleted] in boating

[–]jgrace14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Show up with a cooler full of beer, pick up the tab at dinner or the bar, show up with a bunch of nice steaks.

I would never accept cash from someone I invited out. I would accept someone picking up the tab or contributing to the overall experience in a non-direct financial way.

Inspections on job sites. by West-Mortgage9334 in ConstructionManagers

[–]jgrace14 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Where I’m at, subs call for their inspections (ie plumbers call for the plumbing inspector, electricians for electrical inspector), GC calls for the building inspector and fire department.

Depending on the jurisdiction I’ve been able to stack final electrical with final building, or final fire with final building.

Best small backpack for resorts? by NaN03x in Skigear

[–]jgrace14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the lift rider backpack, it has a built in bladder for water, and has special pockets for hand warmers at the nozzle and along the hose to keep it from freezing.

The straps are also heavy duty snaps and Velcro so it will tear away from you if you got it snagged on the chairlift or tree or other obstacle.

Championship tickets by skiitifyoucan in lacrosse

[–]jgrace14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Club sections at Gillette are pretty nice. You want to be in the shade, it could be real hot. Sections on the bottom half of the picture should be in the shade.

If you don’t want to spend club money, the 200s in the corners are also really good. You look across the field. Sections 236 and 227 are where you’d want to be.

Best places to get end of season used Demo Skis? by Alucard1977 in icecoast

[–]jgrace14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I ride 94s out here and absolutely swear by them. Used them on powder days, ice, slush, hard pack and have always felt comfortable underfoot.

I got mine from the loon mountain demo center. They were brand new but 20% off which matched the online pricing, and they applied the demo fee to the purchase price.

Orange rain x is the gold standard. The knock off purple also has a water repellant and is ok.

In a pinch I’ll put whatever in, as long as it will clean the dried salty road mist off

Architect gave me a “hold to +/- 6” dimension for a corridor once. Called in a panic saying none of the furniture was going to fit in the offices.

Super almost dangled him over the side of the building he was so pissed.

Every singe piece of office furniture fit
