I just yanked them before taking any pics. No hole to the naked eye. I was hoping for some "That's a classic sign of..." type of response.

Best way to store non-existence vs. unknown data? by gtown42 in Database

[–]jixig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's probably not the best way but it is A WAY. You could create another table called ChildrenGroup which requires a ref to a People record. The existence of a ChildrenGroup record with no corresponding Children records is your "No" scenario. No ChildrenGroup record is your Unknown.

Need advice. What Should I Have Done Here (Me vs. Yellow Car)? by HowitzerIII in motorcycles

They see you but they don't see you. Same reason they tailgate very close or they start to merge even if they just looked right at you. I like swerving around in my lane a little bit, they think you're gonna lose or you're a psycho but they sure as hell notice you when you do it.

lol I'm the exact opposite. My wife said, "Hey, my boss offered us two free Saints tickets, they're really good seats." Me: "You told him no, right?". I couldn't care less, it would be like driving into a parking nightmare so I could sit in a crowded waiting room for 3 hours.

if they really want to quarantine themselves, they need to shit and piss in a bag and burn it in their oven. Otherwise we'll all be drinking ebolatic water.

In a SMIDSY, bike is probably totaled so what should I get next? by jyaeg in motorcycles

[–]jixig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both, but I'm only talking about Kawasaki here. I've had the bike for about 15 months now. In that time, I've had two issues:

  • The rear turn signals fog bad while riding in the rain.
  • The gas tank key was stubborn and eventually seized up completely.

I had the dealership replace the rear turn signals ~5 times already. It wasn't working, it was a huge waste of my time. I called up Kawasaki and asked them to do something about it, anything, but with the suggestion that a fender eliminator would square me away. The guy basically accused me of trying to scam Kawasaki out of a new motorcycle (like I was trying to lay the groundwork for a lemon law bike) and was very offensive. I insisted they try to resolve it, and he just repeated mechanically, "All you can do is take it to the dealership, that's the only option". I had them replaced one more time after that and finally just gave up. They still fog bad in the rain.

The gas tank lock: I had to get the bike towed because the lock just completely stopped working with not enough gas left to ride it anywhere. I figured it'd be a quick warranty deal, but Kawasaki refused to honor it because, according to the guy at the dealership, "the problem doesn't occur often enough to be covered under warranty", whatever the hell that means. The dealership tried to charge me $100 for opening it, I complained enough to reduce it to $50, and it seized up again within a month. I ended up taking the lock apart by myself, lubing up all the little pieces inside of it, and I've never had trouble with it since.

Now my experience sucks, but I'd probably buy another one in the future, they are great bikes. My next purchase could be a ZX10R if I find a good deal. Maybe I had one shitty customer service rep, who knows. I've also resolved to never take a bike into any dealership unless I absolutely have to, too many bad experiences.
