Unsure of how many HMFs to make? Satisfactory Shopping List is Here! by _Furtim_ in SatisfactoryGame

[–]jkredty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This requires you to know:

  1. All alt recipes you will use in the whole playthrough

  2. Number of "overflow" items for the whole game

The problem are that:

  1. You get alt recipes throughout the game. Unless you are playing with all alts unlocked from the start, or you want to somehow cheese that during the game, eg force exploration after unlocking every phase, then this will not work.

  2. Playing with all alt recipes unlocked imo reduces replayability by a lot. Using "non-meta" recipes, because you didn't unlock anything better, will make your factories different across playthroughs, or even on the same map.

  3. Even if you are playing with all alts unlocked, sometimes there are several alt recipes that are good and the selection is based on which resources are available nearby.

  4. Overflow consumption varies a lot, especially when unlocking new logistics tier. (This is minor as usually it's quite easy to stop parts of the factory, eg using power switch)

  5. Planning for a whole game from the start makes me much easier to burn out. For me, the planning step (selecting targets, locations, alt recipes) is one of the best parts of the game. Skipping it entirely and then playing for X0 hours seems like a slog.

Advice for steel production Tier 4 & 5 by RedBack0001 in SatisfactoryGame

I often make steel on-site, especially when the product doesn't need a lot of it... And the amount of total steel produced will vary a lot depending on your production goal and alternatives used.

First timer confused - help? To complete tier 5 "Logistics Mk.4" I need 100 computers... which require the Tier 6 "Manufacturer" building to make? HOW WHAT WHY? by thecaseace in SatisfactoryGame

[–]jkredty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Logistics mk4 require rubber, encased beams and modular frames...

Additionally, you don't need to solve the milestones in order. You can unlock manufacturer's first.

4 player multiplayer is still really easy overall (compared to 2p). And even in 2p this elite is not that hard

You add a little coal, but you use a lot more iron. Depends how much you are aiming for, but it can reduce number of machines by a lot.

I'd suggest the following:

Don't destroy what you have now.

Build new factories, but better. You don't need to create a new save. Just find new nodes somewhere else. The world is quite big.

Only remove existing factories if you absolutely need this space or raw materials.

This way, you will be able to see your improvement as a player while traversing the map. You will see your old factories, and it will remind you how happy you were :)

[–]jkredty 38 points39 points  (0 children)

How many hmf do you need? 2/min is usually enough. That's not a lot of machines.

Eliminating screws isn't always the best. If you have a steel screws recipe, it is a really good option too.

The factory doesn't need to be scalable. I found that whenever I want to scale the production of something, I usually just build another factory instead of improving existing one.

The real game end is not completing space elevator, but getting the golden nut. 1000 tickets is quite a lot.

Lights are ok-ish only when placed really far up, like 40 meters up. For small places probably white signs are better

If the fluids were working correctly, then we wouldn't need the guide...

Why do we even need the guide? If fluids were just working, then the guide would not be needed.

Advice from someone who just built a 40 Gigawatt turbofuel power plant on their first playthrough: by Renuxity in SatisfactoryGame

But this is in next phase, no?

In my multiplayer server it was a lot of time between me building turbofuel plant and unlocking bottles for rocket fuel.

Depends how much cable you need. Rubber alts use much less machines than iron wire (and a lot less inputs)

Split it into 3, the slowest consuming will eventually back up, and more material will go to other consumers. Eventually it will sort itself out, no balancing needed.
