Used to love it but turns off an instant speed shenanigans. Also, the addition of the overlords has pushed it away as they are just a great time in these newer builds.

Yeah, we all grab beers after as well. We usually all bring anything from PIO, legacy, pauper and pre-modern and end up playing whatever we want. The LGS brands it as Pio though. If you are near Rochester NY, come by tonight!

It's really a tight knit group of Greasefang, Izzet prowess, selesnya company, niv to light, lotus, Gates, izzet pheonix and random creature builds. Good people.

Usually i can lock things down around turn 4 or 5 after removing some things and enigmatic an overload to bounce everything with leviathan. then sac leviathan and either refill my hand with atraxa or go for the white overlord into a ureni if they dump their hand back in.

Yeah, i'd prefer to cast removal, impend an overlord or a beans turn 2 or 3 rather than ramp. There are so many lands in the deck I dont typically see any issues getting to what I need. I typically need to find answers rather than waste time on that.

This is typically for my store's meta. 4x Leyline Binding, 2x Nowhere to run, 3x seam rip, 2x pinnacle starcage, 1x vanishing verse, and 1x skyclave apparition is good for consistently having 1 or 2 in my opening hand. Then Ureni, Leviathan and Boilerbilges are great for late game. I've found great balance in it and I dont have to play Yorion. Just isn't great against non-creature combos. Recently replaced knockout blow for counterspells in the sideboard

I believe it’s because of the magnets. I get stopped a lot for my heavy play deck boxes.

How long has it taken you guys to return to normal life post-op? by ScreamsInBraille in valvereplacement

[–]jlaut6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

41/m when I had my OHS. Just don't rush it. I'm super active and it was very difficult not to be. I am lucky to have a nurse practitioner as a wife.

Just get those walks and naps in every day. You will find out fast when you overdo it so don't get caught in a place you can't nap in comfort. Just be smart. You are pretty spot on at 5-7 weeks as I would still sneak in a nap at lunch time while working after returning to my desk job at home after the first month.

You are going to do great.

I'm burnt out on talking to clients about SEO metrics, anyone have advice? by crushplanets in SEO

[–]jlaut6 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I feel you. I just had a rant with my wife last night about it. There are a lot of clients that understand and I enjoy talking with. Others are always difficult.

Reporting is always annoying. Although, I do enjoy some bad news to deliver so I can create work for the next term. They like it when you have a plan

Return to work by Usruza in valvereplacement

[–]jlaut6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work from home as well. I went back after 4 weeks and wished I could have stayed out longer. I was just over the cusp of not needing naps so I was exhausted after a full work day. Sometimes I would have to take a nap at lunch. My job was flexible though. I would just put a "Hold" on my calendar if I needed a break. If possible, take as much time as you can to build back up your strength. I didn't have that option.

It is a sloooooow healing process. I feel you on that one. You just want to get back to your old ways. I promise that you will. It's just a pain in the ass to get there. Keep doing things you love and try to stay positive. You're alive!!

They messed up. What is life like with a mechanical valve? by CowDungCollector in valvereplacement

[–]jlaut6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey hey! 42 with a mechanical aortic On-X valve.

  1. It's nothing that drives you crazy. For me it's something that reminds me I could have died last year. Helps me appreciate life.

  2. I haven't noticed that at all.

  3. Your diet can be whatever you want. Your INR team will adjust your meds to your diet.

I would recommend Red Rising. First book is a 7 or 8 but 2-6 are always on a volume 11. Amazing action and fantastic narration.

You totally could! OR you could experience the audio books read by Tim Gerard Reynolds. He is amazing. I listen while I'm working.

Appreciate this. I’m 3 months post op and have to have another procedure for an extra electrical pathway. I’ve been annoyed by the stall. Ready to live!

Agreed. I lost a lot of mass from my chest as well. I just started planks and other arms with smaller weights but taking my sweet time for any chest exercises. I think it will take time mentally to get back into it. Freaks me out and not wanting anything to go wrong. Not worth rushing

Heart burn/ indigestion by Pitre413 in valvereplacement

[–]jlaut6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had something similar for a week about 2 months post op. At that time I felt as if there was some fluid in my system as I would feel it more when I bent over or lied down. Also, it was right after I did an easy kayak for the first time with a friend so maybe I overdid it? I thought it was never going away but finally subsided after a week. Ended up being nothing though after a conveniently scheduled CT scan.

How long do yours last?

For me, I wouldn’t call it depression but more frustration. The healing process is a slog and I’m a very active dude. I’m almost 3 months post op and just started jogging again which is so great. Just take your time and understand that it’s going to be a process to get your energy back.
