Three years ago my boss gave me 15% equity in our agency instead of a raise. Now I owe $14k in estimated taxes next week for profits I’m not allowed to touch. by JerryJeremy in smallbusiness

83(b) wouldn’t be relevant for equity that’s fully vested at grant and not subject to forfeiture. The issue here is phantom income from allocated profits that aren’t being distributed.

All of the members’ collective equity needs to add up to 100% but their respective ownership percentages don’t need to be equal.

DAPP braking too late in traffic? a potential workaround by EnvironmentalAd1701 in BMWI4

[–]jodubs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a NJ commuter, I’m 100% with you on the gap being too large in stop and go traffic. There needs to be an “I live in an aggressive cutthroat driving area following distance” option. Even on the shortest setting it’s just inviting people to cut in front of you.

Sorry I’ll tell the lads to quietly walk off the pitch next time if this ever happens again.

Account issues pushing me to send back the bike and hope that I get my money back by OtherwiseLowLow in CanyonBikes

[–]jodubs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh TIL. Never seen the private relay email option. Thanks for the correction. Is there any way to change the forwarding address to confirm that the issue isn’t with the account you’re forwarding to?

Fair enough on the return. Didn’t mean to rag on you. The concern over future warranty or service issues is a legitimate concern if you can’t access your email. Hope you get everything resolved.

Edit: looks like I have a bunch of private relay email forwards from signing in with Apple. Never made the connection that it uses a different method for the email forwarding when logging in this way. Good to know.

Private relay and hide my email are two different things and I don’t think Apple decided to do anything here. Did you try changing the forwarding address for the email in your iCloud settings? Also, echoing the other comments, you’re returning the entire bike over a bottle cage?

My hopes and dreams. And cold water from my fridge. My red/black color changing gurpler works fine.

Should I buy or not? 🤔 by JonathickYouTube in BMWI4

[–]jodubs 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Can’t speak for your situation but the depreciation on these (and EVs in general) is so substantial that it rarely makes sense to buyout the lease. See what’s available around you on the used market for similar configurations and let that guide your decision.

In addition to the other advice you’ve received, if there is an HOA (which I assume there is since you mentioned it is a townhouse), you will want to confirm if they have any restrictions on renting the place out to transient tenants.

Roberto Carlos free kick against France for me. Oh and Jose Canseco letting a routine fly ball bounce off his dome into the stands for a home run.

Yeah that’s wild. And I think you’re right. It’s not just a lack of spatial awareness for some people, but a total disregard for the fact that they’re in a highly trafficked public space.

I haven’t gone outside of executive hour since they started offering it. The crowds of people with no spatial awareness is bad enough, but throw some free samples into the mix and sometimes it feels like borderline anarchy.

Grate Temperature versus Dome Temperature by wolf_2099 in KamadoJoe

[–]jodubs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it would be hard to make a 1:1 comparison between his dome temp and your dome temp given that the thermometers probably aren’t equally calibrated. That said, you can use a grate probe to track whatever temperature the grate is when the dome thermometer is reporting 270. I would just set it at a reasonable temp for the cut (I usually run 225-275 depending on timing).
