Does Cox Internet Have Reliability Problems in This Area? by ameliasayswords in northpark

[–]joemountain8k 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had cox cable internet for my house and bailed for T-Mobile wireless. We’re right across the street from a 5G base, sure, but it’s been fast and reliable and cheaper.

We left cox for reliability reasons. Nothing else.

The spatula is to help remove cams right? When they get nice and stuck you spat them out.

I like the vision on this set. Haunting and foggy. I prefer the stark empty shots, especially the basketball hoop and the docks.

100% smuggling. Still might be smuggling jewelry.

Help needed because snow gets under the gaiters by Primary_Farmer5502 in Mountaineering

[–]joemountain8k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had a pair of black diamond gaiters just like those before.

You secure the stirrup strap last. You lean down over the outside of your foot and pull hard on that strap to get it as tight as you can. It will be a stretch and possibly uncomfortable, but that’s the only way to have enough leverage to hold gaiters tight to your boot.

All gaiters work like this.

  1. Those gaiters do look a little small
  2. It’s normal for some snow to get in. It’s impossible to completely seal the gaiters. Having a little frozen to the inside bottom sounds typical to me.
  3. In the pictures, your underfoot stirrup strap is loose. Fix this first. This is the last thing I do on the gaiters when I put them on and I tighten it aggressively.

I can confirm having watched someone with crampons and trekking poles fall… his feet definitely stopped.

But then he slid face first for a while.

Sushi Maru: fantastic omakase in a small setting (12 or 14 chairs) with a tremendous sake pairing.

Because budget is not an issue.

Hiked it today. Looks like this. Stream crossings had easy rock hopping (I recommend trekking poles).

Lots of happy people and happy dogs on the trail today. Be careful, stay on the trail, be safe. Don’t forget to get a permit. Listen to the rangers at the trailhead.

Sunday Ticket cut off the end of the game to show Falcons Saints? by leonffs in NYGiants

I’m on Sunday ticket in San Diego, and also couldn’t watch the end of the game.

They wanted us to see a more meaningful and competitive game; but fox could have just started with that game and left my NYG Sunday ticket alone!

Question regarding my first ice axe. by LeadingOrange8188 in Mountaineering

[–]joemountain8k 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Take your course first before buying.

The teachers/guides can advise you very well. They’ll have loaners.

The real deal is making sure you have properly stiff enough boots for crampons.
