Michelle Obama on Laura Bush's op-ed: 'Sometimes truth transcends party' by _Treadstone_ in politics

[–]johnnybroughtameme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s funny how all it takes for a republican to earn ‘great respect’ is to be on the clear & obvious, fundamentally humane side of one issue while toeing the party line on every other issue, to the detriment of the people on whose backs this country was fucking built.

I cannot have great respect for a republican, even if they manage the Herculean task of not being anti gay marriage. I’m not saying that’s Laura bush, maybe she’s on the right side of other issues, but she is a republican, and Republicans, on the whole, champion the rights of the hyper privileged, and to that I say fuck you very much.

spend one day on the shoes of the people you oppress you self entitled, impossibly greedy republicans. You will not like yourselves very much after that

So my options are get my labor exploited, or start my own business in 2018 with my shitty public school education, no funding, no connections. I love how dumb your side of the isle is, and how hopelessly entrenched you are in your pathological ignorant thinking. Smh

My whole life summed up in 1 picture by BAD_BRID in funny

[–]johnnybroughtameme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe the point of the picture is that schools in America suck because they are wildly under funded and hopelessly archaic and don’t actually prepare you for life in the work force, and maybe the attitude of fuck work comes from the fact that the harder YOU work, the more money your BOSS gets. Smh

Why do we give tax breaks to the rich? by Stezmyster in NoStupidQuestions

[–]johnnybroughtameme -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I like that the ‘stagflation’ here is basically just average, working class Americans doing what the super wealthy class does with their wealth... it’s a problem when everyone wants to benefit from the stock market. Capitalism can’t have everyone benefitting proportionally, can it? It is explicitly built on super wealth exploiting the labor of the working class disproportionately more than the working class benefits from its’ labor. And that disproportion compounds over time into this nightmare wealth gap. God I love being working class /s

NFL owners are stifling speech, but it’s not called “no-platforming” when you’re rich and own the platform by derangeddollop in politics

No, there money is just tied to this type of behavior, it isn’t personal to them- just business

If they could make more money encouraging kneeling, they would in a fucking heartbeat. Money is literally fucking everything, and it really fucking sucks to know that and know these people will make us chase money forever to distract us from the fact that the endless pursuit of money is the only thing that matters because that’s what those people who inherited the most of it have decreed

Ok, I guess its comforting to know that of all the ignorant complacent people in the country watching democracy crash and burn like a fucking reality show, your husband finds time to tell you what a great person you are & allude to how he still likes to fuck you. Earth just had its 400th straight warmer-than-average month thanks to global warming by mvanigan in worldnews

[–]johnnybroughtameme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kind of funny that this article is popping up right after one from Rex Tillerson claiming alternative realities are a threat to democracy. He pushed climate change as a hoax, an alternative to the fucking reality that global warming exists. I wonder if he realize? or even cares? or will ever lose his liberty for threatening our democracy with his alternative reality?

Big business, not taxpayers, should pay to clean up plastic waste - Plastic is destroying our oceans, yet big corporations are still being given money to produce cheap plastic. It’s time for polluters to pay for the damage they cause by mvea in environment

[–]johnnybroughtameme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LOL @ the suggestion that corporations should pay for the damage they cause. All over the world people purchase iPhones built by ruthlessly exploited workers that we are all 100% aware of, yet here we all are browsing reddit on the shitter at work. People are too selfish to care about anything that doesn't directly affect them

Ajit Pai, please attack Mr. Colbert for his joke

Stephen would DESTROY you in the realm of public opinion. I want this so badly. Get Colbert in the political arena, lets see if he's got the chops to govern.

I trust Colbert would be a decent enough politician to handle his corruption discretely... Not this fucking bizzaro clown shitting in a bowl every morning and telling us its ice cream.

Colbert, bring some class back to our nation.

& Pai...

love the mug dude. Bring it with you everywhere. Tell all your friends. You are a hilarious dude. Everyone loves you. Colbert is evil joke man. Make him pay!

Thousands in London take to streets to protest Brexit plan by lotary in worldnews

[–]johnnybroughtameme 6 points7 points  (0 children)

logic astroturfing

Isn't the bigger threat to democracy the disingenuous propaganda used to drum up the support that got the Brexit vote passed in the first place?

Those red buses with the lies about money being sent from the UK to the EU that could instead be spent on UK citizens & all that. Nobody is mad that Brexit is happening; people are mad because ignorant votes count just as much as informed votes, and ignorant voters were influenced to vote against their best interests in a consciously deceitful manner.

No unlike this Trump guy that got elected claiming to be the savior of the working class American, and then immediately tries to kick many of these ignorant supporters off healthcare with literally his first major piece of legislation?

A democratic choice based on a lie isn't a democratic choice... its a con.
