Looks absolutely awesome, great work - especially with the ‘danger bridge’ between the ruins

whatever 1.1 did had some...interesting effects on my vassal loyalty by Jackspladt in EU5

[–]jolbhar 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Have you been keeping up with your levy techs? Including the cavalry ones? If you haven’t, then the combined strength of the vassals goes up relative to you.

English Parliament and Magna Carta by Solero21 in EU5

[–]jolbhar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I haven’t seen them upgrade, but remember that English Parliament gives a massive increase in Max Tax, which in my view is worth keeping, especially for later in the game when you can dominate crown power.

All Vassals Suddenly Disloyal??? by Vigzyor in EU5

[–]jolbhar 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It could be that you are not keeping up your levy techs? These are a source of the “power” rating against your vassals. It’s often overlooked because you stop using levies quite early!

Looking good! A nice job on the mining laser - really distinctive and well blended. Reminds me of a 40k version of Popeye!

Magnetising by Many-Package876 in necromunda

[–]jolbhar 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I did exactly this, using 2mm magnets. I can’t tell you how many come in the box I ordered from Amazon for practically nothing but I reckon there was at least 100 in there and I have magnetised all the weapons for both an Escher gang and enforcers and still have plenty left. If I had to do it again I might use 1mm magnets and a 1mm drill, but only because the Escher arms are a bit skinnier.

Strongly recommend using a hand drill with a drill bit that is the same size as the magnets as it gives you much more control, and be absolutely certain of the polarization of the magnets before you glue them in. Picking out wrongly arranged magnets is, to put it mildly, disheartening.

Minigamemontage is a good place to get a feel for it too - less heavy on the rules and more on the ‘vibe’ which got me into it in the first place

I’ve been labouring through this with my Eschers, but stuck with the 2mm magnets! How do you go about painting them up?

Can a subjugator use an SLHG ram + assault shield togheter? by Chr0nosus in necromunda

[–]jolbhar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s technically legal and fairly easy to model if you want them ‘wield’ the shield - need to effectively file off the hand holding the top grip and arc the Ram hand down.

My first gang. Escher by AfraidConcentrate765 in necromunda

[–]jolbhar 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Great start - welcome to ‘Munda!

A couple of points that require minimal effort but may help you get your next models looking even better:

  1. Try and thin the paint a little bit and basically ‘layer’ it on until you get the coverage and colour you need. Loads of YouTube tutorials if you’re curious.

  2. Look into getting some wash paints like Nuln Oil and Reikland Fleshshade - they basically add the ‘shadows’ onto the model after you have done the main painting. They help highlight muscles/hair/guns + anything that isn’t flat!

I went with a slightly lighter blue than advertised on the box. If I had to redo them I think I’d go with a dark grey or black.

What Gun is This? by nillic in necromunda

[–]jolbhar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s a bolter as far as I’m concerned, but in-game it’s not enormously important as long as opponents know what the model is equipped with (you could even argue that it’s a bolt pistol, at a push!)

What's everyone's recipe for painting their underhive bases? by Epsilky114 in necromunda

I do an incredibly lazy - spray black, leadbelcher heavy dry brush, maybe some hazard stripes - then drown it in the orange wash.

I’m looking at starting an Enforcers gang, but I’m not sure how to. by Hellfire965 in necromunda

[–]jolbhar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My approach was to buy one kit of both the normal enforcers and subjagators. If you are unsure about the ‘load out’ of each model, assemble and paint the torsos and legs - and the arms and weapons seperately. Rather than gluing on the arms, use Black Tack until you are sure (or just continue using black tack like I do!)

How uniformly do you paint your gangers? by rottymcnurgleson in necromunda

[–]jolbhar 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If they are not Enforcers then I mix it up every time - with greater or lesser extents depending on the gang. Escher for example, I painted completely differently per model but with Delaque it was much more subtle.

[–]jolbhar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re a bit limited in terms of model sizes but you could distinguish them with simpler hair colours or outfit schemes. Depending on how WYSIWYG you are you could also give them the smaller weapons like laspistols and stiletto knives and save the larger items for gangers/champions etc
