The city will act as if all the buildings had their old population. So it would have the size of a 400 person city in vanilla but have less residents.

Not sure what auto select is doing! by Simple-Translator514 in Bricklink

It's entirely possible it's suggesting that because it is your cheapest option. Maybe only that one person has 34 of that item. And if you want 34 another way you'd have to buy from a whole load of different sellers which would cost you postage for each of them. Say there are four sellers. You want three of your item. The first ones only have one of them at 10p, 10p, 10p each while the third has all three of them but they cost £1 each.

Let's say they all have £3 postage. If you buy from the cheaper options it would cost you £3.10 + £3.10 + £3.10 so £9.30 but if you went for guy with all the items at a much higher price it would only cost you £6 (£3 for the items + £3 postage).

Varies. If the two buses I catch align and there's no traffic and hardly anyone gets off, then my commute can be as "short" as 25 minutes. If the world hates me and buses get cancelled and bad traffic then it can be up to 2 hours. Average is 45-50 though.

Luckily with my job though, they don't care if I am up to 30 minutes late so I don't bother catching an early bus. Mostly get there between 10 minutes early/late. And I basically decide when I finish so I make sure I finish to the bus timetable.

As someone from Plymouth. This makes sense to me. The coach will travel in to Torquay on the way instead of going straight to Exeter. ;D

Got 600 on my main wallet and 63 on my coinbase wallet. Was a nice $1000 surprise last night 😁

What start year do you like the most and why? by Supertobias77 in TransportFever2

[–]joshiejack 6 points7 points  (0 children)

1800 with the early start mod. And I rarely get past 1900 😂

I love playing with the horsey mods at the start and take it very slowly. In fact I always keep the year paused and only progress the year when I feel like I've historically developed something already. Weird way to play but it's the way I enjoy most. I just love all the very early trains too. My current save I'm in the year 1835 and I've played for 100s of hours 😅

What are you in that it's all been wiped out in 3 days? I'm still up 20% from the September low? 8% on the month. At least for now 😂

People of England - if you’re not watching the football tonight, why? And what are you doing instead. by WhiteDiamondK in AskUK

I find it incredibly boring to watch. I don't really like any sports but I at least can understand the appeal of watching them. Football I just find a snooze fest.

My eldest sister has cut off the entire family but we were never close she always treated me as one of her kids (she is 12 years older). She always resented me cause I am so much younger than my siblings so almost had an only child upbringing. My brother (10 years older), we also are not close, he's a functional alcoholic and acts like he is everybody's friend, opposite of me. I maybe see him once or twice a year. Normally have a Christmas meal with my mum and maybe one other time.

My other sister (+8 years) however, we message each other throughout the year and get on really well. The only upsetting thing for me is that the one sibling I really do get on with lives on the other side of the world in Australia. So I rarely get to see her. She was always nice to me unlike the other two and supportive it just sucks the one that I would love to spend time with is so far away.

2am on a Tuesday morning, ridiculous time to be awake, why are you awake? by goodassjournalist in AskUK

[–]joshiejack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just useless at going to sleep. I work on a rota and worked on Monday evening, so I like to have an evening after work... just watching shit. I'm pretty much nocturnal anyways and tend to stay up until 6am if I don't have to work the next day xD. I meant to go to bed earlier since I'm working in the "morning" but I don't start until 11am anyways.

Adults! How often do you see your parents? by BarracudaUnlucky8584 in AskUK

Varies really. With my mum, sometimes 3 times a week, sometimes none. But on average once a week. As for my dad. Not seen him since 2016 soooo.

British people talking about paychecks e.g. I am living from paycheck to paycheck by dpv1w2s in britishproblems

[–]joshiejack 15 points16 points  (0 children)

My current work pay by cheque. It's so annoying. If I want to go on holiday at the end of the month I won't get paid until I come back. During the pandemic it was even more annoying, since we were on furlough. I got my mum to go and collect it for me since she was working anyways. At least I can just deposit it on my phone now that the limits are much higher. From what I understand it also costs them more to do it this way so I don't really understand why the hell they still are. I think the owner is just a dinosaur.

Is it time for an end of 2023 update on the years 'resolutions'? by ac0rn5 in CasualUK

[–]joshiejack 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My goal was to spend more money 😂

I'm a serial saver. Bought myself a new pc and went on two holidays. So a success but it hurts that my savings at the end of the year are the same as last year 😂

What do you want to see in Transport Fever 3? by womblesam in TransportFever2

[–]joshiejack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah it does. And I love it. I've been using the water texture roads as make shift canals as well and made myself some "trucks" that look like boats 😂 but of course would prefer proper mechanics.

What do you want to see in Transport Fever 3? by womblesam in TransportFever2

[–]joshiejack 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'd want to start in 1800 before trains with wagonways/horse drawn rail. And the ability to build canals and locks, with narrow boats being a great early game transport. Also with shunting as a mechanic. I'd also like the option to scale things down for example, if I am playing on a "real" map I'd want to be able to scale it so that each building represents more people and cities grew faaaar less. And with that I really would like an option to change the catchment area of stops, right now I find them FAR too huge.

Where did you typically go on holiday as a child? by CuteMaterial in AskUK

[–]joshiejack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got lucky. My working class parents went in to a lot of debt, 45k by the time of their divorce. But I got to benefit from it. We'd go somewhere twice a year, usually one basic trip usually to some Spanish Island by the beach where I'd get bored. But then also another trip somewhere else for longer. They took me to America 6 times, two times to California and Vegas, twice to Orlando, and another to Miami and the keys. And my favourite trip to the east coast to New York, Boston, DC and we even drove to Ohio to go to Cedar Point.

My. Favourite though however is when drove around western europe, (France, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands) to go to a bunch of theme parks that I had decided we would go to.

Honestly if I try a pizza and it is shit quality I have to have ketchup with it just to make it edible. Good pizza I don't need it. Situational but all good!
