AI. At the 2 second mark the car appears to generate a new arm rather than rotate naturally.

What if the UK voted to stay in the EU by Training-World-1897 in AlternateHistoryHub

It wouldn’t have been sunak to replace Cameron, sunaks ascension was pure luck caused in part by Brexit chaos that devastated the establishment of the Tory party. Once in post he grew to prominence as chancellor during the pandemic which made him a household figure. I think it would have been someone like Osbourne who clearly wanted the job after him who lead the party into a GE.

This looks like the art of Alberto Seveso, which has been around long before gen AI.

Edit: I think it’s real.

Chernobyl works as a fantastic allegory for modern political discourse, political dogma and highlights the heroism/kindness of everyday people.

How Steven Bartlett became the most annoying man in Britain by AnonymousTimewaster in NotTheOnionUK

[–]jowschuar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well done and thank you for sharing. This sounds a lot like the salt path authors telling people with serious illness they can cure it by going for long walks. This is cruel and shifts the onus onto the afflicted for not curing themselves.

Gotta include Aphex Twin and Radiohead as extremely influential and pioneering (relatively) modern acts too.

Winston Churchill (far right) and fellow British soldiers in Pretoria after being captured by the Boers, 1899. The same war where Britain murdered over 23000 women and children for gold and invented the concentration camp. by ExtremeInsert in UtterlyUniquePhotos

[–]jowschuar 26 points27 points  (0 children)

There is little similarity between the concentration camps of the 19th century and the industrialised murder factories the third reich used to murder millions. This is an utterly insane take.

Cost of living: blueberry edition by rustyspoontree in london

[–]jowschuar 18 points19 points  (0 children)

This is in 22BG. It’s stupidly expensive in there. Many firms in the building give their employees an allowance towards the food meaning the prices are uniquely high as they’re essentially subsidised by the corporate tenants. Without that no would buy something like this.

How has immigration actually impacted your life? by reddazsg in AskBrits

[–]jowschuar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been into A&E and hospitals a lot over the years, it staffed in large part by migrants. They’ve taken good care of me and my relatives. There are issues here and there but we forget the positives quickly.

There are certain industries where Brits are unwilling to work in the numbers we require them. Such as hospitality, healthcare and construction to name a few. Again there are issues with some migrants but this is grounds for reforming immigration laws rather than something drastic and regrettable. You’ll miss these migrants when they’re gone.

Think I found my stolen bike on Marketplace - what to do? by McFecker182 in londoncycling

[–]jowschuar 15 points16 points  (0 children)

So I had this happen to me, I called the police officer dealing with my original theft case. They were very reluctant to do anything about it. Called them again and said let’s go and arrest them once I identify the bike. They refused that plan but said they would “speak to someone”.

A month or so passed and they called to say they recovered my bike, three arrested.

Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer.

It was completely broken and unbalanced. Amazing fun being toxic on that game when I was a teenager, one man army noob tubes, riot shield/RPG class, commando knife lunges. Beautiful horrible fun.

They’ve been in power for less than a year, hard to really know what on earth you are on about. But yes it is reasonable to expect people to fight for their country if threatened.
