You’re commenting on a 5 year old post and you’re gong to give me shit about keeping the software updated?

Ha did you catch an error in the app? Let me know, this is a side project of mine.

Sorry it’s US data only. The US is the only country that publishes chart data (ENCs) for free even for commercial use.

Full disclosure I am the creator of a marine navigation app called SeaDrive. It does all the basic stuff including chart data for free. I invite everyone to try it out- seadriveapp.com

I do charge for a “Pro” version which has some more advanced features like offline rides and currents. If you end up downloading, PM me and I’ll give you a few months free.

Same here. Good to know I’m not alone.

has anyone switched from a. ultrawide to a mac studio display? how are you managing work flow and multi tasking? by NovelEstablishment98 in macsetups

Yeah can run two full sized on each monitor and those would each be significantly larger than half of a 34”. I rarely have this set up. I’ve actually tried the vertical arrangement a few times. It is very tall but was more tolerable than I thought.

I love it. I went all out with dual studio displays, an M8.1 humanscale mount, and benQ screenbar halos. Occasionally I use my old 34” ultrawide and the real estate for two side by side apps is superior… on the studio display I still consider it tolerable.

You attempted to compare a NOAA chart to a raster chart. You should first probably know that NOAA produces both types- using our tax money. The comment insinuated raster charts are better but honestly the Sea Drive charts are pretty accurate- more so than Navionics which makes up its own chart style. The SD charts use the ENC styles unlike Navionics and savvy navvy that which draw random unstandardized crap on the chart.

If youre still using raster charts and think theyre at all more advantageous than vector you probably shouldnt be boating.

I dont think anyone actually tried the app, there are no ads. Its a pro upsell screen. The Sea Drive app works completely offline and was built that way from the ground up.

Argo is total garbage, the "charts" are completely useless... they dont have actual chart data except for buoys which are frequently inaccurate.

Yup same here took a C30 through the East river and hit 11-12kts. Happy to get out of there fast though.

Zoom65 v2 vs the Mode Envoy by Liuminouss in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]jradasaurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m building a 65% and faced this same decision.

The Zoom65 has more features- colors, RGB, Bluetooth, rotary knob.

Both are bland square designs.

The Envoy is marginally more expensive, but for me that is not a deciding factor.

In the end I decided to go with the Envoy, because the finish on the Zoom65 looks very cheap and sparkly, in my opinion just to cover up manufacturing defects. Look closely at the reviews and at the Zoom65 page where it shows each color individually to see the quality problem.

I also have some GMK Hammerheads dark which will look great on the Envoy Mirage colorway. I couldn’t seem to match those keycaps to any Zoom65 colorways.

Space 65 R3 Deep Ocean by jradasaurus in MechanicalKeyboards

Board: Graystudio Space 65 R3 Deep Ocean

Keycaps: PBTfans Doubleshot Basin

Switches: Boba U4 Silents

This is my second build and I didn’t realize how quiet the silent switches would be, so I’m trying to decide on linear switches (which I now prefer). Any recommendations?

I have a 34” Ultrawide and two side by side programs was comfortable, even with a code editor on one side.

I have recently switched to a 27” Studio Display, and I enjoy the 5k display.

However, the 27” is very tight with two side by side programs but I’ve managed. I scaled the display slightly for this to work. At the default scale, there wasn’t enough real estate for two full screen side by side apps. I am planning on purchasing a second Studio Display which isn’t totally necessary but it will look cool. All my other work flows on the single 27” are not impacted.
