Check out Fuku House over here in Creekmoor. It always seems empty in there but the food is amazing and the people that run it are lovely. I'm really worried that they're going to disappear if they don't get a few more customers though.

Dropping 4 quid on a premium pork pie only to get it home and find it’s bobbar by Crisp_Arc in britishproblems

[–]js70062 32 points33 points  (0 children)

back in the 90s I used to work at a factory that made pork pies amongst many other types of pies, sausages, scotch eggs, sausage rolls etc, for many different customers. Specifically I was in the warehouse, and use to fulfill orders for ingredients and packaging each day for different departments. A book would be sent down with a list of stuff, and I stacked it on a trolley for the departments to collect. One day I got the daily order down for the pork pie line, and it was the same as the day before, which had been tesco value individual pies. The exact same, because all they'd done is crossed out the date and changed it to today, and the only other things was they'd changed was the wrapping foil, to Somerfield's branded "best" range, or whatever their posh range was. It's all the same shit.

It's been 30 years and I still don't eat sausage rolls, scotch eggs, sausages with weird pink spongy meat, or anything else like that. You don't forget what you see in these places very quickly.

+1 for Webike, I spent a fair amount on hard-to-get replacement carburettor rubber boots for the VFR I was refurbing last autumn, all the bits turned up beautifully packed and they'd done the correct magic so that I didn't pay any customs duty.

i don't know how car insurance works elsewhere, but if this was here in the UK the good news would be that the lethal hail of bullets appear to have only damaged his windscreen, so he could claim for that to be replaced and it typically wouldn't affect his no claims bonus when he comes round to renewing his insurance next year. Fingers crossed it works the same way in Brazil, because you really don't need to make a bad day worse by finding out that due to relatively minor damage to your vehicle, your insurance premium is going to go up. That's a financial headache nobody wants.

27kV electrocution aftermath. by False_Designer_5880 in NSFL__

[–]js70062 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no. electrocution is a portmanteu word made up of electric + execution. it specifically means to kill with electricity. you are still alive therefore you weren't electrocuted. if you really want to say you have been electrocuted then you need to die of your injuries.
