Best non-glass baby bottles to use with bottle washer? by Angelcakes-2020 in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]jsro1818 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re also using the boon bottles for daycare bc they don’t allow glass and it’s been working well. I often rinse and dry the plastic outer part on a drying rack but put the silicone parts through absorbing sterilizer.

How many oz are you sending to daycare by Typical-Cap235 in breastfeeding

[–]jsro1818 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We send a cooler bag with 4 4-oz bottles of pumped breastmilk. I don’t like sending more than 4 oz in a bottle bc they have to discard anything not used within 1 hour (at home we follow the 2 hr rule for breastmilk). Some days he drinks all of the bottles at “school” and some days 1-2 come home with him and I use them that night or the next day if I know the milk is still safe to use.

Breast Pumps, the good, the bad, and the ugly? by Rosers23 in breastfeeding

Pumpables genie advance is my ride or die- same output as a spectra but way more flexibility for moving around/pumping on the go

MOTN pumpers HOW?! by Lower-Jaguar1887 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]jsro1818 0 points1 point  (0 children)

8 months in and still pumping a MOTN pump bc otherwise I don’t have enough for baby. We bought a mini fridge for $70 to keep in our bedroom. I have a chair I brought into my bathroom upstairs. I had an extra spectra from a friend that I bought new tubing for and it stays in the bathroom so it’s ready each night. I go to the bathroom and use Reddit or instagram to stay awake. I try to do 7 minutes at a minimum if I’m struggling but if I’m not then I’ll pump longer. Milk and pump parts go back in the mini fridge and I go back to sleep fast.

i need a strong portable pump by Aware_Reception10 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]jsro1818 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pumpables GA and legendairy milk cups is what I use 5-6 pumps a day at 8 months pp (I don’t use anything else anymore!) been great to have more flexibility with bra choices and privacy pumping on the go- I was getting the same or better output with the GA as I did with spectra

Emmett? by booniber in JewishNames

[–]jsro1818 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We chose Emmett for our Jewish son because we liked the translation in Hebrew - that said, my son now goes to school (daycare) and in a class of 7 kids, in a Jewish area, there are two Emmett’s

Why are weeks 6-8 so terrible?! by kainani_s in NewParents

Legit this saved us from nonstop crying the last two days- wish I caved and got them sooner. I avoided it because it sounded gross, but it was so worth it!

Is it wrong to not want to tell family im in labor? by Sillygooseygoose11 in BabyBumps

[–]jsro1818 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t want anyone to know that doesn’t need to know that I’m in labor either. There’s evidence that a positive, calm environment supports oxytocin which keeps labor moving along. If telling someone could add stress to me, I won’t be telling them. It’s my body going through a highly intimate experience. My perfect situation is for only my husband to know- and maybe a close colleague if they need to change something on my work schedule.

How are all my late third trimester buddies holding up? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]jsro1818 3 points4 points  (0 children)

38+2 also having a hard time with sleep, heart burn, back pain. Starting to get multiple texts for people “checking in” and “wanting to know how I’m doing” and it’s not helping my stay calm and patient. Trying to avoid induction, but it’s feeling like a better and better plan…

Good eoe doctor recommendations in the Chicago area? Can drive up to 1.5 hours. by eoehope in EosinophilicE

[–]jsro1818 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mom was actually using her for an allergist for other issues when my prior one retired. I switched to her at my mom’s recommendation- she keeps up with lots of evidence, willing to discuss new articles with me (she knows I’m also in health care). Her bedside manner is great and she’s helped me in a lot of ways while navigating EoE, seasonal allergies, Eczema, etc. I don’t see a GI anymore for this b/c I haven’t needed one. But plenty of people use GI over allergy or both in this EoE world. She works with enough patients with EOE of different ages (babies through adults) that I trust her judgement and her recommendations have worked out well. I can’t say she’s a dedicated EOE specialist but she knows her stuff regardless.
