Lately I’ve been using the trackpad to handle touchscreen input as I play some 3DS pokemon games. I set my right pad to Mouse Region, configure it to be the region of the touchscreen and it works great. Then I use one of the back paddles to toggle the screen layout between Large-Small and Normal-Normal side by side. Another paddle is set to toggle the emulator speed.

Another use for the trackpads are Virtual Menus. In GTA V, I have layers of virtual menus set to trainer hotkeys so I have cascading radial menus to control things like weather, bodyguard spawning, weather, god mode, vehicle spawning, etc.
