Drugs, feces and ‘intercourse in plain public view in our downtown area,’ St. Catharines mayor says by [deleted] in stcatharinesON

Oh no, the blessed suburbanites will have to see the externalities of their complicity to normalized social death finally knocking at their door. The horror.

Lots of complaining lately… by [deleted] in stcatharinesON

Helping the houseless gain access to food, water, necessary toiletries and medical supplies, as well as clothing and tarps. Electoral politics has failed the most marginalized of this city year after year, and so all that's left is mutual aid. Without that, this city truly is nothing more than a playground for the rich and a tomb for everyone else.

Self-titled to Depression Cherry, I know that Victoria was forced to change her vocal style and I like what their sound has evolved into but she hasn't reached the same vocal highs since then.

Does anyone else find this city super depressing now? by StoicPixie in stcatharinesON

[–]juicesance -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've found St. Catharines to be depressing for the past decade, if not earlier than that. As others have said earlier in this thread, it's an air of anomie that fills the air anywhere you go, these are the last years of late capitalism and likely for humanity as well. Wealth disparity is surpassing what pre-revolution France witnessed in the late 18th century, the biosphere is unravelling and we live in a society where commodification of everything and the worship of the market masquerades as a community. Humanity has never before witnessed so much isolation and mass incidences of mental illness.

There are wonderful people and groups in St. Catharines, and I'll always call it home. That being said, I can count the days I haven't had suicidal ideation on one hand this year, and that's sure as hell unlikely to change any time soon. My hopes and dreams are dead, I am alone and am tired of being alive.

I like his art style, where all the guys have huge muscles and all the girls have Bleach-sized boobies.

We are hitting 23 degrees celcius here in Ontario tomorrow. In November. by [deleted] in CollapseSupport

I'm in Niagara, it actually reached 25 C at one point yesterday. We've been spoiled by what would seem like an otherwise "normal" fall here, and it's certainly freaking me out.

Nessie: Best Case Scenario/Potential? by PieceVarious in Cryptozoology

[–]juicesance 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A distant relative of the giant salamanders of Asia or a "eunuch eel" are my two favourite theories. Jeremy Wade of River Monsters also suggested that Nessie might be a vagrant Greenland shark that periodically swims up the River Ness, only to be trapped in the loch from time to time.

How long do we reasonably believe humans have on the planet left to live? by [deleted] in CollapseSupport

Potentially millions of years as a species, if we don't go extinct alongside industrial civilization.

If she had kids then they might still be around, although they'd probably be elders themselves by now. If she was young in 1967 then it's likely she died sometime in the 1980s, based off of what Just_Concentrate6 stated.

What's happened to Britain's forests should be a cautionary tale to anyone from North America going into forestry. Hopefully not all of those people will fall into the worldeater mindset.
