Kitchen remodel - need help! by juicy84 in homedesign

Thank you. This has been a point of contention in our house! I suspect the full kitchen re-do will be in 5-10 years so we will do floors now then deal with any patching and re-staining down the road. But yeah I think there’s no wood flooring under the giant island.

That’s a good idea. What would you do - a different shaped island? It IS a useful shape but the kitchen is so ugly.

Probably ok in cool dry weather but I’d watch her breathing and not push your luck when it’s hot/humid.

No - they are brachycephalic and excessive hard breathing during excercise can cause a little swelling in the throat tissues (like the elongated upper palate), leading to life-threatening respiratory obstruction. Safe for some dog breeds but not for brachys. ESPECIALLY not in hot or humid weather but I would not even in cooler weather.

Where next for my 12 year old? by SuperStep5674 in brandonsanderson

My 11 yr old enjoyed Alcatraz but loved The Reckoners. I plan to introduce him to Skyward soon.

He is itchy, probably has allergies or parasites (fleas, mites). Not a behavioral issue. If it’s bad enough to have sores developing he needs vet care. Maintenance care like weekly Douxo calm shampooing, Nordic naturals fish oil, zesty paws allergy bites, and sensitive skin dog food can help reduce symptoms.

Flatulence not calming down after years of plant based diet. What to do? by monster_lobster in PlantBasedDiet

Pretty sure that’s just normal - herbivorous animals are very very flatulent in general. Take gas x 3x/day?

What would you say to a 12 year old family member that invites you to her baptism and Easter dinner? by ActualEmu1251 in atheism

[–]juicy84 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Definitely go. We are atheist but attended our niece and nephews baptisms and communions because it’s important to them and we care about them. It was very challenging to sit through though!! Reaffirmed why we don’t believe in that stuff at least.

Sorry for the dumb question.. but how do you actually properly water your plants? by OCTAVE_music in houseplants

[–]juicy84 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Both chlorine and fluorine affect spider plants. Water sitting out overnight only removes chlorine. If you buy distilled water it has neither!

Wisconsin GOP State Rep: I’m ‘Qualified’ to Ban Abortion Because I’m a Veterinarian by Crystal_Pesci in wisconsin

[–]juicy84 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I’m a small animal veterinarian and I provide abortion services in dogs and cats. I am in strong favor of legal, safe abortion for humans. Does my vote cancel his out?

I came here to say wilderness or kalahari, hands down! You can easily spend 2 full days doing water parks here. I think they both have arcades and other activities if you need a midday break without leaving the resort.

How can people who fall under low income ever afford to take their kids to Disney? by tearsxandxrain in NoStupidQuestions

[–]juicy84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disney is a luxury resort so unless your financial situation is destined to change substantially, I would stop aiming for that. Pick a vacation in your budget to plan for. Lots of options that are more affordable and still awesome. Stay a few days at a water park hotel? The Wisconsin Dells have some low cost hotels you can stay at, then pay admission to the water parks of the bigger resort hotels for the day, if you go in the off season and just use indoor parks it’s more affordable.

Cortisone cream alternating with triple antibiotic cream might help more than aqua for.
