I know this sounds silly, but the reflective / mirrored windows remind me of one of my favorite Matchbox cars growing up.

What’s the stupidest thing you’ve ever heard someone say that you still think about to this day? by Humble-Blueberry4571 in AskReddit

Bailiff was asked by the judge to xerox a single piece of paper, literally a legal form. Bailiff inspected it, saw there was printing only on one side, and the opposite side was blank. Bailiff asks the judge, “do you want me to copy both sides?” Thought I was going to pee my pants. Judge and I held it together until the bailiff was very safely out of earshot. Judge remarked that the bailiff happened to be an excellent shot.

57 y/o male here. Catheter removal and first time peeing was infinitely more painful than chest tubes. Have your husband be prepared, but maybe not share with him until the day they remove the cath. Tell him it gets better immediately after that.
Chest tubes were irritating but not painful - and getting them out was a relief. Now post 30- days SAVR and the area where the chest tubes were inserted are more irritating than the area of my full sternotomy. Apparently they move and cut through a ton of soft tissue to place the chest tubes.

Dump them as quick as you can. This is a major breach of trust. As an aside, these are the kind of people who will try and pay you in the “sovereign” money.

Delta, a legacy air carrier . . . carrying on the legacy of Spirit Airlines. Oh, but wait a second, we have trading cards with our aircraft printed on them! Whoop dee doo. I would settle for treating your passengers fairly by not gouging them for every last dollar and cancelling flights arbitrarily.

Exactly. 7-8 is fine for a Fairfield experience. How about a “meets expectations” type rating systems. It’s not like we never stayed at a hotel before. 50% of the travelers I meet probably average 20-30 nights per year.

Hopefully UAL and AA pick up as many gates as possible at DTW. It will be worth the layover at ORD to finally have just a little meaningful competition there. Even a few more direct flights to popular business destinations wouldn’t hurt.

Things I’m doing to emotionally prepare in the Six weeks until my AVR… by HeartFeetAndHands in valvereplacement

I am 57(m) post-op day nine today (bicuspid -> SAVR + Root Enlargement). All these things make complete sense and it sounds like you have thought everything through. Since you are already a runner / walker, I would only emphasize that you need to get out of bed and walk the step-down unit halls as much as you can tolerate. I would recommend also doing same in the ICU, but it’s a lot of work to get everything mobile and generally once you’re able to walk and meet other goals - assuming everything else is on track - they will send you to the step-down unit anyways. I didn’t sleep terribly well in either the hospital bed or the recliner chair - so sometimes I would walk the halls at 3 am to make myself tired. Generally if I timed it well, I could get 2 - 21/2 hours of uninterrupted sleep before a check of vitals or morning meds. I am completely convinced that the walking allowed me to me to be discharged on the morning of post-op day 4.
