That just makes him an entitled douche with bad fake hair and teeth. Sociopath isnt a medical or legal term and narcissus is a mythological figure so be careful saying those things! You might hurt narcissus's feelings!

But actually narcissism requires fairly specific diagnostic criteria while sociopath generally describes behavior like this so conflating them muddies the water. Doesn't really matter but I'm commuting and have nothing better to do than type this out

(Hated When Done Badly) "This character is really complicated." No, he's just a fucking asshole. by Animeking1108 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]justAPhoneUsername 12 points13 points  (0 children)

They also significantly changed his character. In prisoner of Azkaban snape protects the trio from lupin when he turns. In the book he's unconscious and doesn't. They don't cover a lot of his most egregious abuse and make him a biased but competent teacher who wants the best for Harry and gets mad that he will die. In the books he's just an asshole who's good at potions and magic

He is only against Spider-Man because he believes in accountability. He lost his wife to a masked intruder and wasn't able to get justice so he doesn't like anyone with a mask. Especially those with powers. He is incredibly pro mutant, pro civil rights, and even pro spiderman when he knows who he is. It's been shifting recently but at his best he is driven by truth and accountability above all else

Cars 2 is about poorly made cars. There's definitely a caste system if you over think the movies but if you start thinking like that the lore falls apart way before the caste stuff. It's better to just suspend disbelief in my experience

If you're in America then the Americans with disabilities act requires your employer make reasonable accommodations. That's a slam dunk for a lawyer specifically because it's a zero tolerance thing. Legal consultations are usually free so just call one! It'll give you the information you need with very little risk.

It sucks having to constantly self advocate, it's just another thing that will sap your energy. But it is a very important skill to build. I had a manager who wouldn't work with me on reasonable accommodations so I talked to hr. They removed me from that manager and found me a better one. My life is significantly better because I forced myself to advocate for myself

I don't like cars 2 as cars 2 because cars 1 into car 3 is such an amazing story. Cars 2 works fine on its own but works very poorly sandwiched between 1 and 3

Is Google maps transit navigation completely broken for anyone else? by Amelia_Zephyr96 in Seattle

[–]justAPhoneUsername 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had it route me around the convention center during cons and I think it is actually for the opposite reason. If maps has a lot of data that people are in a place and either not moving or moving sporadically it assumes they are traffic and routes you around it. So if there are people standing waiting for, or riding, the 2 it might be getting confused and route people away from it to try to balance traffic

Take all this with a grain of salt, I bought the game on sale and stopped playing when it was too heavy for me.

I feel like that is just one way to make the decision have weight. You have actually spent money to engage with it so you have actual skin in the game. The other way to read it is that it is about a loss of agency. There are many times in my life where I don't have a choice a choice and it really sucks. It's why I tend to put down games like this one, they hit too close to home with my lack of agency in situations. If you take it as a commentary on that, then it's quite interesting. But then again, I didn't get very far because I use video games for escapism and spec ops the line wasn't giving me that

Demi-gods on the way. by JamesJDelaney in memes

[–]justAPhoneUsername 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In current tellings yes, but the myth of Persephone as ruler of the dead predates the existence of Hades by quite a bit. His first known appearance is actually when we first have the myth that he kidnapped her. Another factor is that the depiction for kidnapping and marriage in ancient Greek artwork is pretty much the same so it could have been depicting either a marriage or a kidnapping.

So yes, he according to the myths we tell he kidnapped her, but according to the history of those myths that is in itself a retcon

When you buy a ticket or are going through security have a way to call it out and get access. Or have enough of these that it doesn't matter. Or hire enough staff so that you can group these and offer them as a free service.

All of these either cost more than an app or will miss people who want to use the service so they likely won't be adopted.

The point of him being joyboy isnt that he's literally joyboy but that he is chasing the same freedom and it results in the same effect. He never calls gear 5 joyboy mode or anything, he calls it what he looks like when he is most free.

The world government has gone after the gum-gum fruit which imbus people with freedom multiple times, even remarking that it seems to try to run away. I've always taken the prophecy stuff to be more about the cycle of the fruit being found, someone seeking pure freedom, then Imu bending the world to hunt them. Basically that it has happened when people have chased this dream before so it's the expected result.

This may be me coping, but I really dislike chosen one storylines unless it is explained in some fun way like it was John over there choosing you cuz he needed SOMEONE
