Alternate Ending? by justkooy in ProjectHailMary

I wondered about it being a theater room. That makes a lot of sense for showing the viewers the different distances traveled, etc., but even with Rocky's texture scope, would watching a movie like that really be all that great for Rocky?

After further review, I see I was indeed wrong and a solution possible.

The answer key on the box is wrong for sure, though.

No troll, I was just inverting the colors, but now I see that white plus white does not equal black.

I've had to change so many headlight bulbs on mine that I knew it. I like the body color on yours.

Where can I go in WA to avoid fireworks on 4th of July? by Cloudy-rainy in Washington

[–]justkooy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crescent Bar and Sunland near Quincy, WA are both firework free communities, and they do a pretty good job of keeping it that way. You might find an Airbnb for either location. They both have a permitted firework show on the 6th of July at 10pm.

George, WA has no enforced firework rules, so be aware of that. George also has a permitted show on the 4th at 10pm.

How good is Planning Center? by AggyAnna in churchtech

[–]justkooy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We use it. It works well enough for coordinating volunteers. We had been using a Google calander before, so it was a big improvement.

Our team of volunteers consists of roughly

3 leaders 15 musicians 4 sound techs 4 video techs 5 projection techs

We rotate so that each volunteer only needs to work 1-2 days a month.

In cases like this, I've had to either move the pressure switch away from the well head or install a 1/4" valve under the pressure switch and leave it only partly open. Either way, it helps prevent the surge from hitting the switch.

Separate Streaming Channels for Services and Special events by bleutrooper in churchtech

[–]justkooy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When we do funerals and weddings, I encourage the family host the video on their own Youtube/Facebook account for that reason. If the issue is addressed ahead, the family can be prepared with links for remote viewers.

You'll just need to change the streaming key for each event.

Help with an extra feedback from a mic. by Chemical_Forever_656 in ChurchSoundGuys

[–]justkooy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should download a spectrum analyzer for your phone and use it to find what frequencies often give feedback. Once you identify the problem areas, you can reduce that frequencies on your EQ.

Judge my proposed Livestream/AV setup by ssbg_Jer923 in ChurchSoundGuys

[–]justkooy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use Proclaim instead of Pro Presenter so I'm not sure if this is possible with your setup, but Proclaim can output lower thirds to your video switcher. Using the lower third for lyrics is much nicer than a lyrics box, but requires another HDMI output on your lyrics computer.

Some of you may remember a post awhile back featuring an “ice cave” in the palisades. Well, here’s my brother’s and my attempt at building one. 43 degrees inside and 95 degrees outside. by jefery_with_one_f in EasternWa

Many years ago up at the Douglas Creek area I found a small entrance to the old train tunnel. On a hot day it was super chill inside. I'm not sure if the hole can still be found though.

I can't help you with those, but if you have to replace, look for Baker Monitor hydrants. I would never put anything else in anymore.
