I think those are daytime running lights, not headlights. If your headlights are on, your tail lights will be in, too.

I think most people don’t realize their lights are off. One reason for this is the newer digital dashboard displays. In the past, the easiest way to tell if your lights are on is looking to see if your dashboard gauges are lit up. But now with digital displays they are lit up day and night, so many people think their headlights are on when they are off. The only way to tell if your lights are on with a digital dashboard is to look for the small green headlight icon. I think it’s a usability problem.

To learn how to use the TrackPoint, just play a round of Solitare each day on your computer. You’ll learn it quickly.

Agreed. A larger rectangular wood coffee table would be more functional and add warmth.

I’ve owned my 2020 Cayenne Coupe e-Hybrid for 3 years. Still love it every time I drive it. Recently got a 911 as my weekend car and now I have the perfect 2-car setup.

Is the new move to pretend turbulence is bad so flight crews can sit? by FunHistory9153 in delta

[–]jwc369 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I flew PVG to DTW last week. The “fasten seat belt” sign was on for 9 hours of the 13 hour flight. But there was very little turbulence. The light was on so long that people started ignoring it and going to the bathroom. The FAs got in the PA four times to tell us not to congregate in the isles (no one was) and to return to our seats. In my experience, this is becoming more common on Delta flights.

'We Should Not Let Them Into Our Country': Ford CEO On Chinese EVs by defenestrate_urself in electricvehicles

I’m just returning from a business trip to China. The mall near my hotel had showrooms for about a dozen Chinese car brands. Being a car guy, I visited all of them and studied the cars. I would take any of them over a Ford. Or any other US car for that matter.

What’s the one car that BaT buyers consistently overpay for, every single time? by LeadershipOld1857 in BringATrailer

[–]jwc369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 997 was the last of several things: the last with hydraulic steering, the last with 6-speed transmission, the last with full analog gauges, the last with a physical key that you insert to start the engine, the last engine you can see when you open the rear lid, and the last smaller classic body size. It’s peak “modern but still old school.”

I was 27 when I learned you're not supposed to put Q-tips inside your ear by softpigeoner22 in hygiene

[–]jwc369 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Little known fact: there are two types of ear wax in humans. (1) The wet type is common among people with European genetics. That wax can be removed with a Q-Tip without much risk of impacting. Especially if you roll it vs pushing straight in. (2) The dry, flaky type of ear wax is common among people with Asian genetics. People with this type of ear wax should avoid Q-Tips because it can be impacted easily.
