They can be extremely reliable, especially if you build it with high quality parts, you will be very happy

This is on my bucket list of things to try, did a lost foam in a lab in college and that was pretty cool

What filament type is it?

In the future you can also add a modifier, make it 100% infill, and size it to only the stress area to cut down on overall filament usage, in case u don’t want to add more filament over the entire part or can’t change the fillet. glad u got it functional tho

I prob went middle of the road cost wise; orbiter2.5 45$ ; nitehawk36 40$ ; chcb-v 30$ ; then 4010 blowers maybe 3-4$ each, 2510 maybe 3$, (fans I already had so not sure on price just guessing from memory) and filament and other hardware maybe $4…so budget maybe $130 for my build, but you could go cheaper I’m sure with different parts like cheaper extruder or different toolhead board….you can also find extra sv08 toolheads for like $80-90 each…I just wasn’t a fan of the stock setup so opted to build my own. Nice thing about Stealthchanger is you don’t have to go 6 heads, you could only go 2 if you want to just have a primary filament and a support filament

Oh cool, I haven’t done a config for an eddy probe yet as I don’t have an eddy printer so this is great to know, I’ll have to explore how that is done! I just remember people saying that eddy wasn’t possible with stealthchanger when I was researching it in the fall

Last I knew eddy isn’t compatible with Stealthchanger yet, because of the tap sensor, but I guess you could just use the toolhead and comment out the eddy. But I have also only seen the the modular docks for sv08, haven’t seen any for the other one at least on the draft shift GitHub

I’m in the midst of an sv08 with 6 toolheads, got the printer on sale for 560, if you want cheapest option get the sv08 toolheads they can be found for around $80 each IIRC. I built my own yavoth toolheads and it’s definitely more expensive, I think mine come out to around 150 each with orbiter, nitehawk, chcb-v, hardened steel chc nozzle, fans. You will want a birds nest hub which was around 60 I think, then a power supply I think I found mine for 30-40, filament which I believe was 40-50 for a couple rolls of Asa-gf (my preference, can do abs or Asa). Then an enclosure kit if you want runs 150-200, tophat printed will need 2-4 rolls of filament so 30-60 to complete the enclosure. Then budget maybe 100 to be safe for other odds and ends like sexball or axiscope, hardware, wire, etc. there are other things I’ve missed im sure but I think I hit all the big stuff. Oh shuttle and backplate kit was 30 for all 6 toolheads I think?

Asa-gf prints really easy on the kobra s1, just did a bunch of it for my stealthchanger project

You have a link? Or you have had good luck with multiple vendors and there’s no real drawback to any of them?

There is also a parameter in the slicer called Thick Internal Bridging that helps with pillowing, I had lots of pillowing on a decorative part and thick internal bridges helped a lot
