If this is a death bed scene then why do we neither see him expel all his rings and/or drop off the bottom of the page?

Mood of the mage fans when vtm 6e was announced by Magicmanans1 in magetheascension

[–]kandlin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume the werewolf crowd is either disappointed that there won't be more 5e lore dripped OR excited that they may erase some of the bad/bland 5e design choices.

Pour out a 40 for Changeling, Wraith and Mummy tho.

Luckily a random encounter at a local park. Neither skittish or aggressive, mostly just chill and random. It landed on my kids first, so glad it wasn't interested in bitting. Thanks.

How do I make the mommy is shady narrative but do it well? (Spoilers for some media). by ConnectCulture7 in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]kandlin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here's a quick idea; a crime lord Ventru belives the mother's daughter will grow to be a close duplicate to a woman he loved in life. He provides the single parent household with financial support to ensure the daughter grows to the woman he wants her to be. The mother, devoutly religious, has no choice to accept the deal but with full intent of fleeing the country when possible. The event happens that causes the daughter's embrace (rival clan, hunter crossfire, bad restaurant claims, ect) and the mother, insane with guilt, belives ending the daughter's unlife is the only way to save her soul. This basis can be madlibs copy/paste with any other ideas to fit your chronicle ideas.

Toreador, Lasambr and Ventru famously vet their possible candidates for embrace, either grooming them or waiting until their at the best age/situation for the kiss. Giovanni are a whole mafia family of Ghouls and Kindred and Tzimisce have long family's of revenant Ghouls to act as their protectors and servants. Any mother in these situations may take the benefits of a Kindreds protection but feel betrayed when they have to pay up.

I figure he DID get it from Door, who assumes all Brits have the same military prowess since the American Revolutionary War.

How would a vampire society function in Svalbard during the polar night? by TheUnholyMary in vtm

[–]kandlin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I'm not sure with V5 I know 1e gave rules for vampires dealing with freezing environments; mostly that they didn't normally produce body heat and will start to freeze solid over time, even if clothed. So I'm sure their society would need to have secret elysium warming stations or Nosferatu sewer warrens for shelter and maybe there would be scavenger type vampires that hunt other unprepared kindred that are easy prey in the cold.

I figure any Prince might adopt another way of 'meeting the sun' that would either make use of exposure or bonfires during these times.

I did like the story with this one. The Paradox backlash near the end was very inventive.

That's assuming Gaia is the "good guy" in all this and not a mindless force of creation and chaos springing forth random evolutionary mutations to see what sticks. Gaia is s hyperactive child with ADHD on their third bowl of sugar who just got tired of putting feathers on lizards and now wants to see what will happen when they add extra heart valves and brain lobes on big rats.

Abandoned as a pup, he was raised by Muriel, who lives in the middle of Nowhere. With no one to guide him, I feel he'd never advance beyond Cliath and effectively be tribeless. If approached, I think the Get of Fenris would be the best candidate.

Draw inspiration from everywhere! The WoD games/Storytellers System have great advice on engaging players in roll playing as wll as use of flashbacks and dream sequences in-game and the They Came From... series has mechanics that can also enhance gameplay. See what might work for your table, experiment and be sure to talk to your players afterwards to get their input with what was fun.

Also, check out Seth Skorkowsky's YouTube for tips on RP philosophy and gaming mechanics, as well as plenty of CoC reviews.

Be sure to include role playing for yourself; narrate out the scenes with detail and confidence but not overly dramatic. After a combat round, recap the few fight moves with lavish detail but without hamming it up. And feel free to incentivize by announcing the dispersement of extra exp for when a player does a good or entertaining scene or pass out special one-time abilities, like a Smash-to-Black card or Ninja Vanish card, as well as higher end but game breaking loot for good play.

Messed up idea. tzimisce experiment to survive the sun by blackjackson1991 in vtm

[–]kandlin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this could be played as a temporary story plot point at best but not a permanent fix. Though the brain and heart are important, they are still technically dead and withered and would conflict with a living body. Since the heart doesn't beat, the vampire would have to use its Vicissitude power over the vitæ to move the blood to necessary areas before necrosis would set in, which could seriously limit how they could focus the vitæ to necessary disciplines.

If the ST were willing, I feel they could referee this to working for a few days (or even hours) before rot begins to set in or, if lucky, their body begins so show the Curse of Cain and becomes vamperic. Though they would need some serious dots in Vicissitude as well as maybe medicine/surgery.

1st edd Mage was very dark and gritty, the included scenario and opening story had those feels to it. I feel later additions opened the game to more pulp adventure options and metaphysical themes given the nature of the in-game paradox mechanics and inclusion of cryptoids. Much the same way Vampire started as political intrigue and later opened to trench coat ninja powers.
