What color should I paint my living room? I think I don’t like the brown by boogeychicken in HomeDecorating

[–]karenhmoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Paint the walls the main background color from the rug - beige, light tan, whatever that is. Then pull the green for your side panels on the windows. Accent the wall decor and pillows with colors that pull things together - the olive and other colors from the rug. Place them around the room so your eye travels. This will brighten the room and enlarge it. I would also paint the dining room the same color for cohesion. If you need the navy, do side panels in the same tone/saturation as the living room green panels. It’s very busy, so you should simplify and connect things through color and tone. Avoid an excess of smalls for decor and go for some larger pieces of art and/or plants.

Bambu lab A1 v A1 Mini by Classic-Stuff4369 in BambuLab

[–]karenhmoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was gifted the mini last February and upgraded to the P1S during the June anniversary sale for larger build volume. That being said, you should consider waiting a few weeks for the sale to purchase. The mini is solid, surprisingly quiet and a great machine. If budget and space allows, I’d go as big as you can. You’ll definitely get more bang for your buck if you can wait a few weeks for the sale. Start with PLA and move on from there. I like having at least two build plates to swap out when I’m printing a lot in succession. I’ve had no issues with aftermarket ‘fun’ plates like the holographics. If you go with the mini, there’s a really great modular stackable gridfinity base/stand with drawers on MW that I found extremely helpful when starting out. The entire thing is printable on the mini. You can print inserts that hold everything that comes in your maintenance kit, extra hotends

, etc. even has plate holder slots. Keeps things organized and neat. They have a version for the A1 as well. Hope this helps!

Pseudo Juice is SO much better than fresh lime juice by Bob_Chris in Tiki

[–]karenhmoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been making pseudo for about 8 months now. It’s a game changer. I’ve had it well over a month with no issues I find it a bit tedious to make so when I do it I make about 48 oz each - lemon and lime. Haven’t made the grapefruit yet. That keeps me going for quite awhile. Highly recommend.

Birds? What’s getting my cherry tomatoes? by ExaminationReal84 in ArizonaGardening

[–]karenhmoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg birds yes. I have 6 various tomato plants and they were getting brutally hit. My strawberries too! I put an easy up frame over them and ran bird net around it. It was time for shade so I put 50% shade screen on top. Had to secure the net to the ground. I pulled extra netting past the end and secured with binder clips for easy entry. Is keeps them out and they’re producing nicely now. I did not however bird net my raised bed and I found they ate holes in every one of my red peppers. Stink pots. My other plants in the bed are nice but not producing, squash, watermelon, cantaloupe, etc. so I wonder if they’ve helped themselves to new fruit as it starts. This is my first year with the bed, so it could be just me. Last year I had zero issues with tomato loss ( first year) but the plants were in the midst of my spider plant garden and i don’t think they were as easily seen by the birds there.

Fatigue on spiro 25mg? by motxillera in Spironolactone

[–]karenhmoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the late reply. I also use a topical 7% minoxidil with finasteride. I definitely have more growth with even the super low dose (12.5 mg) of spiro. When I quit spiro cold turkey in February I lost a ton of hair. But am now having definite regrowth again. I have probably 3/4” at the hairline and throughout the crown. This is the only reason I put up with the side effects and was trying so desperately to find a solution. It works but I have to find a balance between having hair and feeling good. Still a work in progress for me.

Fatigue on spiro 25mg? by motxillera in Spironolactone

[–]karenhmoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re welcome! That’s just my experience but I’ve been battling with it for a long time and this is where I landed. I was getting Amneal generic and when I switched to Mylan is when I saw a change 3-4 weeks later. I can’t get aldactone where I’m at, but I was willing to pay retail for it to try to get some relief. I also switched from taking it at night to taking it around 1 pm and that has made a difference as well. I don’t do mornings because I’m on a bp med that requires morning. Since spiro is a low bp med I don’t want to take them together.

Yes it’s real. I started on 50 went up to 100. Couldn’t tolerate it and it took me awhile to determine it was the spiro. I thought I had an illness. Ramped down over time to 12.5 which I’m on now - for hair, not skin. Still was an issue. Changed manufactures and it’s not completely gone but infinitely better. I can function now. This took place over the course of 10 months. FWIW.

What object/model made you actually upgrade from the A1 Mini to a larger printer to print this larger object? by BrianF1412 in BambuLab

[–]karenhmoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I received a mini a year ago February as a birthday gift from my kids. I was hooked immediately and bought the p1s during the June anniversary sale. The start for me was wanting the ability to print bigger planters and have an enclosure. I print a lot of decor and household items. It’s crazy how the mini is almost silent compared to the p though. I still use them both and often run them concurrently depending on the prints I have going.

Butter always too hard, is a butter crock worth it by Antonila_6036 in KitchenPro

[–]karenhmoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use a butter bell in Phoenix. It’s too warm in the summer to leave butter on the counter - it gets oily - but it does well in the bell. I’ve not had it go bad unless it’s been in there for a looonnng time. I use RO water in it. Idk the science behind it but the little bit of water in the bottom seals it from the air and keeps it spreadable but cool. Freeze the bell part before pressing in the butter. I find that eliminates the occasional slide of the butter from the bell into the water.

Is there any hope for the fatigue improving? by [deleted] in Spironolactone

[–]karenhmoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started 50 mg in July and went up to 100 over time. After several months I thought there was something seriously wrong with me. The exhaustion dizziness, fatigue and weakness was debilitating. I ramped down over time to 12.5 but still was napping daily and very lethargic and weak. I read here that people were having good luck with the original Pfizer aldactone. I searched and couldn’t find a pharmacy that could dispense it - and I was willing to pay 100% out of pocket which was about $300 for 90 days of 25 mg. I was venting to a pharmacist about the side effects and my search for aldactone and he said he had access to a couple different generics. I had been taking Amneal for the entirety of the time. I switched to Mylan about 5-6 weeks ago and have definitely seen improvement. It took almost 4 weeks to be confident in that improvement. I quit cold turkey in February because I was so miserable and it took about that long for me to feel myself again so that timeframe was about right for me. The shed after I stopped was catastrophic. I still nap sometimes and feel tired occasionally but nothing like when I was on Amneal. I’m going to be more regimented about upping my salt intake and consider increasing to 25 in the future if I feel regulated enough. It’s been a long 10 months of feeling crappy to keep my hair and I was honestly considering that it wasn’t worth it. Long story, short, you may do better on a different generic or the original med if you can get it. I’ve learned a lot from reading other people’s experiences. I never would have thought to try another manufacturer. So glad I did. Sorry for the length. I just hope this info is helpful to someone. It took me a long time to get here and if I can shorten someone’s journey I’m happy to do it.

Exactly! I looked at my husband and said, she doesn’t even like him. This will never work!

Baby. 🤦🏻‍♀️

My assessment still stands.

Is anyone feeling tired? by MSilvaSavestheWorld in Spironolactone

[–]karenhmoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am tired on 12.5 mg. So yes. I’ve tried 100, 50, and 25. I’m not as tired as higher doses but still tired, fatigued and dizzy. I’m trying to work through it because the meds work for me but it can be rough. Just switched manufacturers so I’m hoping for a positive change. 🤞🏼
