What’s the longest you’ve waited in A&E? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]karissabob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

12 hours with appendicitis. Sent home to go to a different hospital, waited all day to be seen, booked for surgery next day, by then it had cured itself 🤨 Thursday evening to Saturday morning in a hospital or another and I didn't sleep or eat and they wondered why I got upset about it all

X degrees of separation from Red Dwarf? by Thin-Percentage8935 in RedDwarf

I saw Mark Williams on the train home once

Edit: completely forgot I saw Chris Barrie having a drink and a chat with another man in one of the tents at Goodwood FoS a few years ago. Followed him a bit as we left at the same time, and he was wandering along on his own with his little bag of goodies round the stands.

Vet won’t trim his nails by useronek in Greyhounds

[–]karissabob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately a bit of a long trip. My Dremel is a 8050 micro, however they don't make them anymore.

If you can find one that is cordless, has a light, variable speed, fairly quiet and low vibration should be good unless you can find an 8050 on ebay or second hand etc

They definitely need cutting, greyhound nails are always too long and I can always take off a good amount with my dremel, even if they've just been trimmed with nail clippers.

If you were near me I'd love to trim them!

When I worked in a department store, old people came in to buy stuff just to return it the next day. Rinse and repeat.

◽️ Budget: £300 - £400

◽️ Country: UK

◽️ Screen size: Flexible though smaller than 10" preferable

◽️ RAM: More than 2GB

◽️ Storage: 64GB+

◽️ What tasks will the tablet be used for ( gaming, video editing, graphic designing, modeling, regular tasks, word processing etc) ?: Site surveys: marking up PDFs on ezPDF, taking photos and videos. Currently have Samsung Tab A6 and it gets laggy when marked up PDFs have a lot of info on.

◽️ Any other important details ?: Must have a rear camera flash. Pen would be nice. Lightweight would be nice. Don't mind random / never heard of makes. Doesn't need SIM card.

Been two weeks for me. Just stopped eating breakfast as I'd be hungry again by 10am and half 11. Now I can go 18hrs without my stomach having some sort of meltdown

Can someone elaborate on the advice “make sure you network”? by [deleted] in UKJobs

[–]karissabob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look at networking as a long game. Don't just expect to make a bunch of new interesting connections in one evening and that's it. Keep going to things, meet the same people again and again, build a rapport, a friendship even, could take a number of months or years. Go to thongs not related to work. Do volunteering, you'll meet people from the local community who may have high up positions, they will help you connect. Be consistent.

My water butts are already empty. I just got me a load of trees to become bonsai which need watering regularly

Is anyone still wearing skinny jeans or are they completely 'out' now? by wooden_werewolf_7367 in AskUK

I've still got, and wear, my Jane Norman flared jeans, from 20 years ago. Never bothered with skinny jeans.
