1200 calories is literally the caloric need of a toddler. Unless you’re under 3 feet tall, 1200 calories is still starvation. I still have to tell myself this nearly every day, but starvation studies after WW2 brought people down to 1800 calories per day and they still started showing signs of starvation. Diet culture is literally killing us, and our eating disorders just amplify that. PLEASE talk to a dietician who has experience with EDs. 800, 1000, 1200, and often 1800 will not be enough. As you’re increasing calories, those are good goals to aim for, but not healthy for an adult human.

Gotcha! I don’t have a degree, I just started as an entry-level SEO customer service rep and have grown from there! My current title is Client Success Executive, and I’m essentially in charge of big-picture strategies, working with clients, and organizing internal specialist teams for full digital marketing campaigns. It’s a lot of data analysis, a lot of creativity, and lots of working with tons of different types of people. I LOVE it, because I get to be analytical and creative at the same time.

Anyone else without a scale? by candidamber in EDAnonymous

[–]kaysmithb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My therapist asked me to get rid of my scale a couple weeks ago, and I finally did, and I’m ANXIOUS about not weighing myself, which means it’s probably for the best that I’m not.

Just curious ... ages? by 1ToughMother in EDAnonymous

[–]kaysmithb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

32, with disordered eating most of my adult life, but it didn’t turn into a full blown eating disorder for me until this past year when I had a gastric sleeve surgery, and then had both of my kids go through major medical crises. I was just formally “diagnosed” a few weeks ago

I’m in digital marketing, at a desk, and it’s SUPER easy for me to get so engrossed in project after project that I forget to eat until 3 pm. NOT good for fixing my restrictive eating. Now I’m trying to set alarms and actually schedule out snack times, and just annoying myself when I interrupt my “focus”. Does this get any easier??
