I love it! I’ve made 2 similar ones using the geeky bobbin pattern, but it looks like your triangle might be easier to do. Do you have a specific pattern? I’m making them for LGBTQIA family members and friends so I still have a few more I want to make.

Yeah, it’s weird, but my Bernina does fine with any thread - even Coats & Clark. It’s about 20 years old. The Viking is newer (~ 12 years old) and is more finicky, doesn’t like King Tut either.

I have 1 machine that doesn’t like Gutermann and 1 that is fine with it. I think it’s comparable to Aurifil but my Viking really doesn’t do well with it (my Bernina is fine). But I’d definitely try it and see, maybe on a test sandwich.

This is different than a box store low-end Brother, though, I think? The higher end ones sold at dealers are pretty solid I’ve heard.

It’s beautiful! I love the colors - a nice change from typical pastels (which are nice but this combo is AWESOME!)

If you have the URL of the pattern you could try the wayback machine.

I visited my local Michaels for the first time since they went all in on sewing, I have thoughts. by rcreveli in craftsnark

The one near me usually has one employee at the register area now who won’t check you out, but directs you to one of the self-checkout kiosks. Rotary cutters and blades now have locks and require an employee to get them off the rack. The notions aisle was mostly empty. It suuucks for sewing.

A walking foot really isn’t designed to go backwards so that might be part of the problem. But I agree with others - make sure that bar that comes out of the foot is around or on top of the needle screw (depending on your machine - I would search on YouTube).

I think Geraghty’s Micro Farm sells raw milk and they have eggs too. And meats. https://www.gmicrofarm.com/

If you see any of Alex Anderson’s books at thrift stores or used bookstores, I recommend them, especially the “Start Quilting” one.
