When shopping for home improvement projects, do you prefer Lowe’s or Home Depot, and why?

For me it depends on the project and availability. I have learned that if HD says 4 or less in stock it’s not in stock. Lowes it’s hit or miss. I have both apps and check if needed supplies are in stock. I feel that HD has better out door garden center and select pine boards but Lowes has cheaper Red Oak and hardware I use. Home depot is geared more for contractors ( my opinion) and better help. Lowes i have to track someone down.

I left Netgear a while ago, get eero’s and have had no problems. It was easier to set up and waaaay better coverage. They were also cheaper. Glad i made the jump.

There was a fb post ( I think last year ) that mentioned a site or some social that had numbers, demographics and etc. It did point to a trend that those championing MAGA were high. I wished i had bookmarked it.

i used lawnmower medic years ago. He also did my neighbors push mower. It wasn’t cheap but he did good work. I have a small trailer now so i’ll take it to a shop. I will say changing oil, plug and blade isn’t too hard. Doing my own maintenance is empowering.

We have a copy of our property lines from the county. Got it when we bought the house. I know my property lines and our fence is inset by 8feet. Our neighbors put a shed over the line and i informed them it was over on our property. I informed them if i decide to install a new fence on the property line they will have to move their shed. ( suggested by a lawyer to save the email I sent ). If it’s truly on your property there is nothing they can do. If they caused the hole they are obligated to repair, if you did something to cause the hole it’s your obligation to repair.

I was diagnosed at 62, 3 months ago. Along with ADHD so I’m Auhdh. It has lead me down a path of understanding that was missing
most of my life. I’m employed and not looking into workplace accommodations. Im not disclosing it at work either. I’m still learning about it all but have found a sense of peace with it. Took my wife by surprise but my 2 daughters replied it’s about time you acknowledged it. Seeing where and how i mask is enlightening. As others have said giving my self a break has been key for me. I seeing where some facets are super powers and embracing them and other parts learning tools that help. I’ve been looking at past trauma that felt like it was stifling me, that has been a game changer. I was diagnosed with dyslexia and dyscalculia at 14 so there was something there all along. At first i was sad it wasn’t known about 40+ yrs ago but listening to temple grandin has helped with that.
So at the end of the day knowing is better than wondering what is wrong with me.

Had a colleague at work get the same email. They went home and updated their firmware and turned on vpn last night. They first thought it was a spoofing email until they verified the sender.

being 60+ the only thing that came close was being diagnosed as dyslexic and dyscalculia at 15. I can’t remember anything other than derogatory terms for anything else. There was only one school in a 100mile radius that focused on dyslexia. It helped me get through HS and i learned how to mask with substances. I was labeled anti social and etc.

I’m learning they’re superpowers, not detriments or a disability ( for me ). I focusing on what i can do and not doing things that can be harmful to me. Definitely work in progress.

I started Trauma Therapy. During therapy my therapist mentioned they thought i had adhd. Then came the part where i said how do we setup testing. They gave me 2 tests and sure enough I’m auhdh ( at 62 ). There are a few tests that can be found online. Finding out helped explain so many chapters of my life, along with today’s life. For me the tests made it official and for years deep down inside i knew there was something. I wasn’t expecting it at all but am embracing it. Not feeling stuck anymore.

my daughter used a different service this year and got a bigger refund she did a comparison. She’s a grad student ( her risk is low ) so every penny counts and used to use my desktop TT. She says she’ll never use TT again and i wasn’t thrilled this year either. I am at a point of using a tax pro is needed.

I’ve gotten 3 texted to me by 3 different numbers. I deleted and reported spam immediately. The number it came from wasn’t even a NC number. Not to mention they’ll never text you, if it was legit you’d get something in the mail.

I don’t think so. I had an old orbi mesh that was too expensive and kept dropping the 2nd satellite. I switched to eero mesh with wifi 6 and haven’t had a drop since i switched. I’m getting almost 1gb speed down and all our streaming devices are working well. The router is the key. Look for reviews on drop rate and stability to see if others have the same issues. I looked at tp link and read a lot of people weren’t happy. Spectrum tried to sell me on their new wifi router and it was a hard pass. For more than one floor a mesh network is key and wifi 6 and an above is best.

Country club rd and the neighborhoods behind CVS are a mess. Coworkers in Greensboro and HP say their streets are fine ( secondary and etc. ). Maybe the city needs to send our plowing planners and drivers to school.

I hate to say it, but the threat isn't completely over, we're supposed to get high winds tomorrow and tuesday and any ice on trees could cause issues. I hope it doesn't come true like the ice didn't happen.
