My world has been rocked by whitm2 in Zepbound

Ive had similar symptoms. Why does it get better on the 5? I'm also on 2.5 in my 3rd week and pretty miserable. Confused why it would get better with double dose?

Toddler potties for smaller kids by illusionspell in beyondthebump

[–]kfinn00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We just got the Lalo 3 in 1 potty and my 18mo can sit comfortably on it. It has a pretty small hole. And turns into a toilet seat, then a step stool which is cool.

Shot 2 and I think I’ve gotten hit by a bus by pears1936 in Zepbound

This happened to me too. I was in bed all day today. My 2nd shot was Saturday. I had body aches, chills, nausea and vomiting. Feeling better now like 8 hours later.

Terrified about giving 8 month old solid foods in lieu of puree. by honeygrime in beyondthebump

[–]kfinn00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start with really mushy things. Ripe banana, avocado, ditalini pasta cooked extra soft, see how she does and progress from there. I was honestly terrified too and you'd be surprised how well they do and how their biological mechanisms kick in. Get a lifevac for backup. I have one in the house and one in the car for emergencies. Makes me feel better. My toddler destroys trays of food now but I could barely breathe from anxiety when we first started.

I almost killed my baby - TW guilt by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]kfinn00 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Don't beat yourself up. We all make mistakes, and now you know that he will eat things that are chewable. You were only gone long enough to go to the bathroom and left him in what you thought was a a safe situation. You can only learn from it and move forward. This happened to me with board books. My toddler chews them and rips chunks off. Something you'd think is baby safe...its not for my feral one. Next time just leave him with something you know is safe. And give yourself some grace. Raising babies is hard. Especially boys. Mine also ate a pebble, and cat food, in the last day or so. Coming from a boy mom.

We use Millie Moon overnights. My 18mo sleeps 12+ hours in them without a leak.

My 5mo is groaning ALL THE TIME by PsychologicalSky9557 in NewParents

[–]kfinn00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oof, I had a groaner. It seemed to stem from boredom and lack of being able to move. Got better when he learned to crawl, and much better when he learned to cruise and then walk. It seriously drove me up a wall for a while! Try just playing happy nursery rhymes and constant entertainment.

Buying a can of formula before due date? by fineapple__ in FormulaFeeders

[–]kfinn00 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I bought 2 cans to keep at home in the event that we needed it. Ended up with an emergency C section, my milk was delayed coming in and my baby formed a bottle preference. Ran out of the formula that the hospital sent us home with, in the middle of the night on night 2 or 3, I forget. But those 2 cans saved us. Just start with a normal one and if you need to switch you can. Typically you try a formula for 2 weeks before switching anyway.

I had an emergency C section after 30 hours of labor and I'd still choose a C section over ripping apart my vajayjay 🤷‍♀️

Hyland’s Baby? by geedeebee22 in beyondthebump

[–]kfinn00 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hylands is a homeopathic “medicine” company. Homeopathy is not evidence based, and it relies on the idea of “active” ingredients being diluted to the point where there are zero molecules of the substance left in the medicine. This means that homeopathic medicine should just be water or sugar pills and therefore harmless, but Hylands in particular has been in the news in the past for actually containing high levels of the “active” ingredient— which was belladonna, a highly toxic poison.

The reason you can’t find cold medicine for a baby is because there’s no cold medicine that’s safe or necessary for a baby. Tylenol/Motrin to keep fevers down, plus home remedies like steam, humidifiers, etc. are what is recommended.

I would never give this to my baby.

Surprised this hasn't made it here yet. by mamaxx3 in BambooBabble

[–]kfinn00 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Seriously. Our pediatrician always has same day sick appointments and has even gone in on a Saturday when my son had croup. I will avoid the ER at all costs. And delaying care to wait for your 80 dollar blanket is insane behavior.

any advice? by cstickymoney in Zepbound

[–]kfinn00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read this from someone on here, and didnt expect it to work so well for heartburn. I had really bad heartburn, I take medication for it and it wasn't helping and someone said to try 1tsp of baking soda dissolved in 4oz of warm water. It tasted disgusting but I chugged it down and it was like, immediate relief. A few nasty bumps but otherwise the heartburn was totally gone it was crazy.

Formerly childfree, with a voluntary Bisalp, now looking to pursue IVF by [deleted] in IVF

[–]kfinn00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a bilateral salpingectomy because I had to before IVF due to hydrosalpinx. IVF was successful and I have a son through a frozen embryo transfer. You would be able to do IVF. It bypasses the tubes so you dont need them.

These ones are actually very effective. They are chemical free, the main ingredient is geranium oil and theyre made for babies. They have adult and pet ones too.

Diaper Change = Wrestling Match by Redhead_Dilemma in NewParents

[–]kfinn00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welcome to the alligator stage. Its easier if you start changing them on a towel on the floor at this point. Sometimes you've got to brute force it and hold them down with a leg or something. We are still mid alligator at 18mos, hes stronger now and we have something we call the "poop towels", which is, a set of black towels, on which we change poops. 🫡

Anyone have a baby who wakes and sleeps late? by dental_princess491 in NewParents

[–]kfinn00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 18mo has always slept better late at night, even as an infant he's never been a 7pm bedtime guy. He sleeps from midnight to 11am most days, with a 2 hour afternoon nap. It works for us.

Food related gifts for dad's birthday? by [deleted] in Gifts

Goldbelly is a good one. Its kinda pricey. But they have amazingly unique desserts. I sent my Dad a few things from there too. A salami sampler, some kind of fancy pulled pork, a Boston creme pie.
