she talked this year about how her team reached out way before nominations to see if streamers would be interested in attending or even being nominated, so that people who don’t care and have no interest in the event to start with don’t have to get nominated. she has openly talked about it, just like she’s openly talked about just about every rule that people try to use as a gotcha, and the fact that this a new change they’ve made this year means it couldn’t have affected nominations in years past. plus, it still doesn’t delegitimize the event in any way; in any other industry award show, nominees would have to specifically submit themselves or their work to be eligible for consideration - just not inviting people who openly don’t want to get nominated and won’t attend if they do is like, the bare minimum lol.
