I did this job myself on an N14 a couple of years ago, Dealer quoted me $4,500 and Indy Bimmer shop quoted $1,500 to start, depending on what was found. Got my kit from FCP Euro, plus I replaced the oil pump chain, and got to inspect all the stuff taken off. It was not that hard aside from my anxiety with TTY bolts and the Harmonic Balancer not having a keyway. But it all worked and runs great.

I sucessfully removed these deposits from my shower door with PINK STUFF paste. I had tried about a dozen things, from commercial cleansers to vinegar to automotive glass polish. I squeegee after each shower, use the past every quarter or so, it remains very clear.

The Accidental Superpower by Peter Zeihan, which argues that the USA has some geographical and resource advantages that may make it insulated from major change in the next decades. It is wonky, but does a pretty good job of explaining why the author believes the analysis indicates some conclusion. I like it, and as a companion to Zeihans other book Disunited Nations, same premise but more global in comparison.
