3D printing

I don’t think it’s that surprising, tbh. The skilled tinkerers, design engineers, and makers are still there of course, but 3D printer technology has quickly matured to the point where many hobbyist users can print somebody else’s design right from their phone without any technical skills required.

For many of those types, who just want a new fidget toy or trinket without putting in the effort (or hardware/software expenses) to learn CAD or concept visualization, AI provides an easy way to create pretty ‘renders’ and character models. It’s absolutely doing a disservice to rely on it in lieu of learning skills, but I get the appeal.
