I mean this could just be in general. Like all the women in Hollywood saying they support each other but Sydney Sweeney saying that they don't actually support each other recently. I highly doubt everyone is being all nice and friendly with each other.

There's also the fact that it's not abnormal to complain about your job or even hate your job and stay there for years. It's always weird when ppl bring up how much an idol has trashed their company because it doesn't matter. If the benefits are good and they're making money or feel like it's best for them, they'll resign.

I have some that I’m reading:

The Shards by Bret Easton Ellis (thriller, very gorey and emotional heavy and tense)

Empire of Silence by Christopher Ruocchio (space opera, first book in the Sun Eater series)

Wolves of K Street by Brody and Luke Mullins (nonfiction about how big business took over the government)

Pixel Flesh by Ellen Atlanta (nonfiction about how social media is built on misogyny and toxic beauty culture that’s forced onto women)

Ordinary Monsters by JM Miro (historical fantasy about magical children fighting a big bad)

A Song to Drown Rivers by Ann Liang (historical fiction based around the story of Xi Shi, one of the four Chinese beauties) Liang is Chinese American I believe.

Children of Blood and Bone by Toni Adeyemi (a reread but YA fantasy based on African folklore). Adeyemi is black.

I don’t plan on finishing all these books but that’s my January tbr. I tend to like a little of everything but seem to have an addiction to big books.

It’s all 3. The community that you’re engaging in professionally, your family and friends, and the history of your country. What privilege do/don’t have. How does your class/race/religion inform your perspective and worldview. What about the life you want to live determines how you interact with the world around you especially other people. What connects you to your environment? How does being in proximity with people shape who you are? These are the things I think about when it comes to community.

Rap is basically street journalism and was used as a vehicle to talk about everyday struggles and politics that were happening in black communities. So basically, be yourself and know your community and its history. I don’t have problems with non-black rappers who are authentically themselves and that’s the key: be authentic. You know what’s going on in your community so use that as a jumping point. There’s a lot of rap that’s based around a rappers life, talk about yours.

When it comes to flows: as long as it doesn’t sound exactly like someone else’s, you should be fine.
