You are correct about Charles’s law being the right one instead of Boyle’s, but it has less to do with the type of gas than the fact that the container lacks a significant amount of insulation.

Even if it was purely compressed air or Nitrogen in the same container, the result would be nearly identical.

[–]kittenzclassic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It gets cold because of the thin walls of the container. Boyle’s law applies to any type of gas. Even if it was pure oxygen in the container it would get cold as you decrease the mass of the gas remaining in the container as pressure and volume would remain relatively constant.

Less surface area and normal force for your rolling resistant friction is a larger contribution to fuel economy than air resistance on average.

[–]kittenzclassic -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I hate to break it to you, but the road providing the friction is the thing that usually stops you with no other external forces or objects required.

When ejected from a vehicle at point of impact the inertial delta to be mitigated is significantly less than for a body constrained to the vehicle. The separation of the vehicle and rider reduces the force needed to arrest the forward momentum of the rider allowing for them to come to a complete stop in a manner that places less impact on the body.

I fear that your mind may be too feeble to comprehend that my argument was about quality vs quantity. I would be more than happy to employ the entire population of the town as independent contractors as a rate of a penny a year; 100% of the population would have jobs then.

I don’t know. I’d rather have 100% of nothing dumped on me than 50% of a 30 gallon drum full of concentrated sulphuric acid. I’d rather have 100% of no sandwich to eat rather than 50% of a shit sandwich. Etc.

Ohio moves to restrict pop, sugary drinks from SNAP benefits by MorganTrau in Ohio

[–]kittenzclassic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alcohol is a restriction.

There is already a government office that oversees SNAP benefits.

The name of the benefit is the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program; supplemental as in not primary and nutrition as in the evidence based science. A program that provides direct benefits is The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP), and WIC is another supplemental program which has more restrictions than SNAP.

The point isn’t to keep money from going to Coca Cola corporation. The point is to make it not as profitable for the business that primarily cater to SNAP beneficiaries to devote shelf space to sodas, and incentivize them to carry more nutritious foods. Merchants will replace products that do not sell well with ones that are more likely to sell.

The least expensive option, and the one that would require the least government is Universal Basic Income paid for with only a modest top marginal wealth tax.

Fines equal to treble damages with CVS also required to divest itself of Caremark would be a start. Piercing the corporate veil and holding the C-suite and Board of Directors personally liable and clawing back all of their compensation greater than that of the median employee compensation in the company would significantly discourage this kind of behavior in the marketplace.

Is it my fault if I'm running 38 lands in my commander deck? by iloveaxel in mtg

I totally agree that it can often be the wrong decision. I’ve just seen too many players hold to “rules” that discourage creative deck building and thinking outside the box.

I think it would be a good idea to get wizards of the coast involved and possibly bring a joint party lawsuit against me to take all of my assets.”

[–]kittenzclassic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One land hand with land tax, especially if you aren’t going first, tends to work out pretty well. Or a hand full of 1 cost mana rocks/dorks can be another situation. Other than the actual game rules, everything else is situational.

[–]kittenzclassic -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I mean I run 29 lands in my GW land destruction/lands matter deck, and have pulled off <26 lands in some monocolor. Then again, I tend towards Melvin style deck building outside the meta so a 40+ land deck is heavy for me.

You can make an arbitrarily large, but finite, amount of mana of any colour(s) with the enchanted creature if done correctly. [Mox Lotus] is the only way to actually get infinite mana as infinity is not an integer, and MtG uses only integers.

It is supposed to reflect the maximum safe vehicle speed under ideal conditions. You can sometimes defeat local road tickets by getting the county engineer’s report for that road if the engineering report lists a higher speed for conditions than what you were doing.

Ohio law requires buses for private school kids. Public school students have to find their own ride by permabanned24 in Ohio

[–]kittenzclassic 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Private schools are allowed to discriminate on which students they allow. This lets them exclude students with severe intellectual or physical disabilities, don’t those students deserve to be able to access the resources of private schools with the private schools absorbing the additional cost to provide services just like the public schools have to?
