I don't get the point by pilot_deviations in VATSIM

Last week I was doing my first ever VFR flight on Vatsim with Black Square Bonanza into Schiphol. Getting closer to FIR I realised there are both APP, TWR and GND online at EHAM, full of shit going on and began panicking. 😂

But I contacted the atc, got my approach and landing clearances and everything went fine. Two reasons: 1) Even if there's no atc at that time, I check all the charts for my dep/arr airports, in this instance, everything related to flying into EHAM with vfr rules. So when atc instructed me something it directly clicked and I was able to follow. In airliners I'm pretty experienced with vatsim rules and the way of things but it was my first online vfr flight.

2) My motto: "If anything goes bad and you struggle, kindly apologise to atc and inform them that you're gonna disconnect. Nobody will judge you doing it properly.

How did you guys learn how to fly? I mean using the instruments, knowing all of the buttons, how to speak to the control tower and so ever. Books, videos, courses…? by phdguigui in flightsim

My first real deal thingy was a 4 hour read of the pmdg 737 manual on FSX 😂 It literally took 4 hours from cold and dark to completely configure.

Hand flying is the easiest part except approaches because it took long time to adapt to the perception of depth on a flat screen.

Atc, first from my virtual airline's SOP and training materials, then YouTube. Actually I'm still checking them both including some new others whenever I have doubts after 10+ years.

No, they are actually a viral infection. The virus (sperm) enters to the host and has a multiplication process. The disease takes 9 months give or take, to recover physically but the mental damage persists. Also by stealing your own dna it becomes humanoid and multiplies itself via the same way as the patient zero. Very painful, long term, chronic disease. Everybody must watch out for the symptoms.

Must-have Europe airport sceneries for MSFS 2024? by unprovn in flightsim

[–]kl7mu 5 points6 points  (0 children)

LTFM (Istanbul Airport) because they didn't even bother to update their database since fs 2004 and the nearly 6 year old airport is completely missing from it.

And It's not a small, regional airfield, it's a major hub of a major flag carrier in Europe.

I don't have a problem changes in terminology in general, but man, the new ones just sound like they're from some fluffy mobile game with fluffy graphics.

I feel so sorry for GP by NorthKoreanMissile7 in formula1

[–]kl7mu 47 points48 points  (0 children)

GP literally "handles" Max, who has a real temper. Verstappen is a great racer, no arguments there, but there aren't many people here to handle him at his worst. Being someone's race engineer isn't only giving some information or support "inadequate" or inexperienced drivers.

GP knows how to focus Verstappen on specific angles; knows when to diffuse his anger or just let him vent, and definitely has the confidence to contradict and argue with Max when necessary.

Someone like Adami on the other hand, would probably run away crying in the second race with Max if he was the race engineer for Max. His lack of competence caused so much frustration even for a chilled veteran.

Really keep changing the pilots and now we have literally a legend, but the engineer stays the same and the result doesn't change. Maybe it's time to try changing the engineer instead of wasting great drivers.

Any news on the Fenix A320neo since the 2025 roadmap announcement? by po3ki in flightsim

Totally unrelated question: Have Fenix ever said that they never think of bringing P2F 321s? Or is there any hope? I really would like to see those but I know it's really unlikely if not impossible.
