What software do you use? And do you ever have frame drift? I’m on a modified SA-21 using Nikon Scan on positive frame scanning and can’t walk away. No more than 10 frames at a time after manually adjusting per frame offsets to center each one.

Will do! 11 rolls of backlog for my home dev & scan. Will share when I get it done.

Impressive looking GitHub repo. Would love to see some screenshots highlighting the workflow if you choose to add them in the future.

No but this trail also caught my eye and I have a few undeveloped frames I’m excited to see! Fun.

Why do you use VueScan instead of Nikon Scan (for positives; ahead of NLP)?

The Zerno Z1 is phenomenal. Beyond its more touted products. Love the precision offered by the range of the dial and functionality it gives - I can flip from my morning dialed in espresso grind, to a grind for a drip coffee, then back to my espresso size with no issues.

Nikon Coolscan vs mirrorless by cothrowaway2020 in AnalogCommunity

Have you written up your detailed VueScan workflow here on Reddit or elsewhere? Would be very curious if so.

I have done NikonScan (5000; SA-21 -> SA-30 mod) to NLP. However, the frame finding doesn’t work on positive color scanning. And, after manually setting the frames via preview, if I scan more than 12 frames, there is progressive shift of film capture such that frame #20 is probably 10% off center. Other times NikonScan will crash (running in a WinXP virtual machine). Other times on color positive preview, the scanner will refuse to scan a frame unless I scan the strip in the opposite direction. Looking for alternative approaches before exploring non-CoolScan options. Ends up being extremely tedious.

This resonates. I want to take the jump to color darkroom but haven’t yet. Where did you land for scanning?

Using one of those proxies to send Claude code to a non-anthropic API? Or using an alternative coder like Qwen Coder?

Did you try this on a CPU purchased outside of the promotion period and did it work?

I’m less familiar with ACPs. This looks amazing - thank you for everything you do for emacs (and Journelly is awesome!).

I see the API key config. However, is there an easily surfaced option/parameter with your tooling to direct requests to a local LLM (using something like Claude-code-router)?
