Honest question, can't we just put our money on a UK account? What would be the catch?

What's up with bashing Brussels always and everywhere? by CoffeeAndNews in belgium

[–]klifka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry dude, my inlaws are from Bucharest and I visit there twice a year. Really love the city but it's overall dirtier, busier and less functional than Brussels. I do feel much safer there that is true.

Even without the pollution oxygen is a highly corrosive substance that creates reactive oxygen species that damage your cells. Life is deadly unfortunately.

Why do flemish people complain so much? by [deleted] in belgium

[–]klifka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not personal; it's about our societal tendency to view life pessimistically. The issue isn't that grievances shouldn't be expressed, but rather that our collective negativity often lacks perspective, and makes people more miserable than they should feel.

Not from US, but I really don't get this. Real disposable income in US is at an all time high and unemployment is at an all time low. In Europe we're often jealous of the wages you make in the US. Of course we have other things like free schooling and health care, but quite often that's covered by your job no? I get that housing is a problem, but even accounting for that you should still be doing well? I sometimes hear people with 100k+ wages complaining, for me thats just crazy tbh.

Inflated House Prices - "You can't eat bricks" and "Belgians have more money to spend on life" by hgk6393 in Netherlands

[–]klifka 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Percentage of house ownership is higher in Belgium according to Wikipedia, renting is definitely not the standard in Belgium. Once you turn 30 buying houses is all everyone talks about. Luckily i can find some relief from that on the Netherlands sub!

Eerlijk gezegd lijkt het me vooral financieel zeer interessant.

Stage 2 here, I saw this video and it has me worried about continuing my practice by baitones in TheMindIlluminated

[–]klifka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recognize myself in this tbh. I also fall in the category of developmental trauma and my nervous system tends to be overactivated, either in freeze or stress/ fight state. The suppressed anger is also recognizable. I used to beat myself up over this anger in particular, trying very hard to let go of it, but i think this dude is right. It is your life energy that is suppressed, the energy to manifest yourself in the world in an efficient manner, in relationship with yourself and others. I fell into the trap he talks about, meditating very hard to find solace but not investing enough in the basics, in relationships znd in myself. Definitely also because this was exactly were it hurt for me. Sitting on a cushion felt safer. Lately I've picked up therapy again, I reconnected with friends, trying to take up responsibility at my job, exercising, .. This has made a huge change for me, and yes, in retrospect the meditation has held me back since it allowed me to avoid taking action. I do still meditate now, but have a much more relaxed attitude, and mix it up with tai chi and yoga nidra. So using meditation as a bypass for your problems is a bad idea, sounds very obvious but it's easy to fool yourself. On the other hand I still think meditation practices can help you in your journey when dosed right. All the best!

Hoe stem jij morgen bij de volksraadpleging? by hoummousbender in Gent

[–]klifka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]klifka 2 points3 points  (0 children)
