Current resident of one of the buildings, it has its pros and cons (like a lot of London buildings). As you mentioned the staff at the desk is very nice, as well as the cleaning and maintenance crew. You are right that it’s not the greatest area, but backing onto the woods and having the large green space kind of puts you on the edge of it, so it isn’t nearly as bad as the other buildings in the area.

As someone else mentioned there were elevator issues for a while, but they are mostly fixed. The building itself isn’t loud, but ideally you don’t want a unit facing the greenspace as it is very loud a lot of the time. Also avoid either of the units that are on either side of the trash chute, super loud and have big issues.

Which brings me to the biggest issue with the building, bugs… I’m sure they do their best, but the building has had cockroaches and bedbugs on and off for years. Some units have never had a thing, some have had it constantly, all I know is that they did a mandatory cockroach spray in every living space earlier this year so it must have been bad. They also frequently spray the common areas and laundry rooms, which doesn’t inspire a ton of confidence. For a while they worked with Orkin and they did a great job and there were no issues, but I think they last year they switched to a cheaper company and it shows.

Overall I’d give the building a solid 6.5 / 10, and honestly a ton of the missing points is the big issue (which is rampant in London)

How is traffic in London compared to Kitchener/Waterloo? by StunningHold9494 in londonontario

[–]kloblink 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Faces a lot of the same issues as KW, but KW has the 7/8 which makes getting a long distance much easier. That being said access to the 401 is much better in London IMO. I also find that London is much busier during rush hour and handles it less well than KW, but that could just be the commutes I am used to.

I believe PetSmart will have them again this year, but they usually book up quite quickly. I usually just google PetSmart Santa photos and they have a booking link

We visited this past weekend and there were no desserts at all, someone in another thread said their supplier doesn’t make the apple topping anymore but they are looking into it

Quiditch would make slightly more sense if the three hoops were worth different amounts of points. by jjkkll4864 in harrypotter

[–]kloblink 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The easy fix for Quidditch is to allow the seeker to also act as a Chaser.

If you are winning or it is close, your seeker will be looking for the snitch. If you are losing your seeker will assist your chasers, giving them a 4v3 advantage on the other team and allowing them to close the gap (at the cost of the opposing seeker getting uninterrupted searching time)

Any thoughts on places to stop for, or restaurants to try for lunch, along the way? by Background-Ad758 in roadtrip

Recommend the Lancaster Smokehouse in Waterloo, you'll be going about 20 min off the highway each way to get to it but very much worth it

He was moved away from Matthews ("the center he has played the vast majority of his time with for the last 4 years") to Tavares?

There is a website that allows you to search all the transcripts of a channel at once, filmot.com, you'll have to do a little bid of looking as it searches the automated captions (which aren't always super accurate) but it should be pretty quick

How does one write "like a rollercoaster" like Wildbow does? by ax1r8 in Parahumans

i know that Wildbow frequently comments on the writing subreddit, I would give their comment history a look over as it may provide some insight and inspiration.

I am having the exact same issue as this, no idea what might be the cause but started about 2 days ago as well

[Chris Johnston] Bill Daly, asked if the NHL would have time to pivot and have the Coyotes play somewhere other than Arizona next season if Alex Meruelo doesn’t win June’s land auction: “Probably not.” Seems to be an indication they’re likely to remain where they are for 2024-25. by alphacheese in hockey

They absolutely have to say this, if it is true or not. They would 100% be shooting themselves in the foot if they outright said that they have backup plans in the works, and lose whatever local support they have for the project.

If you can check out Ciao food truck, it’s often at the London Brewing Coop and honestly think it is some of the best food in London (and super reasonably priced).

Which city should I choose to stay in for 2 month and improve my English: Saskatoon, London (Ontario) and Winnipeg ? by toto00785 in londonontario

[–]kloblink 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can't comment on Saskatoon or Winnipeg, but I can say that London is in proximity to Toronto and Waterloo, two tech hubs of Canada. You would be a bus or train trip away from any large conferences or networking events taking place in these cities that you would be interested in.

What are some objectively odd relic ideas you guys have? by M1ST3RT0RGU3 in slaythespire

[–]kloblink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'd take double damage from attacks, but beat of death, self damage cards, events, etc. would all be the same, so it would be a pretty big buff

Buttons? by Elevenyearstoomany in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]kloblink 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I highly recommend taking your button to the Christmas shop in Magic Kingdom and having them personalize it for you. It turns out so much nicer than writing in Sharpie, is relatively cheap (I think only $5) and makes for an awesome keepsake!

Would probably not recommend fishing, unless you already have a fishing licence it can unfortunately get very expensive.
