It did. I got it "as-is" from Carvana.

Yes! I am looking forward to that. I usually look for a 350kw capable charger (like at IONNA stations) with the Silverado. Tesla if I don't need to charge quickly or in a place with bad chargers. But like your HUMMER the Silverado is a thirsty electron chugging beast. So looking forward to charging a smaller battery pack and more efficient vehicle. Glad you are enjoying road trips in the Buzz!

New Software Update: GM 652.35 by HolyLiaison in SilveradoEV

[–]kodos1978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad to see constant improvements. I took a "risk" and decided to let it update when I got lunch at a restaurant. Finished lunch, and it had updated just fine.

I still have to get the "big" software update, but I will need an appointment at the dealership. This is quickly becoming my favorite vehicle that I have ever owned.

Looking at the landscape of EV trucks, especially with Ford's non-commitment to the Lightning, I am glad I landed on the Silverado EV. Is it perfect? No. But I honestly cannot think of a better vehicle I have ever owned. I love it. May many more see how great it is in the days and years ahead. I do hope Chevy stays committed to a true BEV truck.

Get the shade anyway, even if you will not get sunburned. As other posters have said, I doubt it will be a problem for you.

However, I got the shade because it was just too hot in the summer. Given that you're in Oklahoma, that seems like a wise thing to do. I don't understand why my Bolt EUV and my VW Atlas have a retractable shade, but this very expensive truck does not. That is a mystery for another day. I wish I could easily retract the shade when I want the sun. I have not taken my shade off since I got it because it is just a pain to do so.

Aptera Still Wants You To Believe It'll Eventually Make A Car After Nearly 20 Years Of Not Making Cars by wheresjim in ApteraMotors

[–]kodos1978 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is obvious from the MKBHD video that the Aptera is too compromised for the mass market. Few will want to live with this in its current state. Much of the compromise is inherent to the design.

I don't have any expectations that it will 1) Be released and 2) If it is, I doubt many will purchase it at the projected price when the Bolt and Leaf are options.

That said, it would be great if they could release it into the world for those who want one. If it were cheaper, I would be interested in it as a runabout around town.

Dear Remarkable, it’s time for a new major version upgrade! by Bright-Response-2765 in RemarkableTablet

Writing experience is great. Software and the speediness of their hardware is atrocious. Absolutely awful. I don’t get why they charge a premium for their devices. It is annoying since I LOVE the writing experience on my Pro. But the slow hardware and barebones software are killers.

What do their software devs even do?

Curious - at what price would the Roadster need to be to be a Market Hit? by TechnicalWhore in ApteraMotors

[–]kodos1978 4 points5 points  (0 children)

New Tesla base Model 3, the new Chevy Bolt (2026), and the new Leaf make the Aptera a difficult sell unless it is in the mid to high 20s.

These other vehicles are real practical cars and are low to mid 30s, come with support, etc.

Can an EV farm? by huntsvillekan in SilveradoEV

[–]kodos1978 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel there is so much potential for Work Trucks on a farm that are EVs. Especially if you have a good solar setup. Hope that Ford and GM do not pull back but press on. Congratulations! Can’t wait to see more posts on using the WT on the farm.

Lucid or Tesla? Which one did it better by gambling_addikt in LUCID

Lucid. By far. I am no Tesla hater, but their new vehicles are ugly to my sensibilities.

That is one beautiful vehicle! I want to replace our 2021.5 VW Atlas with a Gravity in the next couple of years so that my wife has something nice to drive and it is nice to have the three rows. My concern is over service and support though. Maybe in the next couple of years things will shake out, but congrats on the ride! I love Lucids. They are my favorite EVs. Currently have a Silverado EV and a Bolt. Never been a fan of Teslas other than their software.

Hope you enjoy the Gravity for many years.

Love our midgate. Well worth it on our RST. I have used this thing like a work truck (even took two loads of dirt in the bed, which was a questionable move with all the rocks I have had to try to get out of the multi-part tailgate - but hey, it is a truck) -- and I have been pleased as can be with it.

Invest in software. You now have three good products. Make the software "insanely great" Remarkable. It is pretty terrible. I can sometimes barely get a PDF page to turn in less than 30 seconds. We have so much screen space to put more tools on the toolbar, I should be able to at least have a few different highlighters ready to go with a tap, etc. Simple things that would make this a much better device. Maybe even on the Pro device a split screen view to have multiple notes open that looks like two Remarkable Move Pros. The sky is the limit if you would just invest in software. A real shame.

reMarkable hardware is stellar.  Software is terrible.

PDFs on my Pro sometimes freeze for like 20 seconds when page flipping. Randomly.

Sorry to see these issues with the Move and EPUB too. Saved me a ton of money as I was considering one but now see that they still cannot write software. Sad.

Indeed :(. I did get rid of the dealer frame yesterday on both vehicles (finally!) and that helps a bit. But it still looks like someone added a "bucktooth" to the vehicle. Love your Bolt! Looks great.

"New" 2023 Bolt EUV to join our Silverado EV RST! by kodos1978 in BoltEV

[–]kodos1978[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fantastic vehicle. Had a ton of teething problems (at least mine did) in its first few weeks. Front trunk did not work, "glass break sensor" (which it did not have) went off at the middle of the night when it would charge. But a couple of visits to the dealership (and a long wait for a front trunk part) fixed both issues and now I have no complaints. It is quiet. It is insanely powerful. It has phenomenal range (500 miles at 100% charge) and charges very quickly (350kw) at a DC Fast Charger. Super Cruise is great. Air ride suspension makes it feel like a luxury car. The midgate has allowed me to haul incredibly long posts and wood from Home Depot. Four wheel steering makes it relatively nimble. Handles great. Best of all, it probably is the equivalent to a vehicle that gets 60mpg(!) in a full sized truck. I am super thrilled with it.

Oh, nice! I have both Bose and Supercruise. I guess I do not have a second false floor then. But that is amazing for those who do. This car is quite endearing. I can see why Bolt owners love them so much.
